Externally Recording the Kronos

Post by Davis_vicky »

I was recording the Kronos using Cubase. I used two jacks one left and right. Here is the track. I am pretty much happy with what I'm getting now but I am curious to know, are there better ways to record the Kronos externally?

I use my Tascam DM4800 mixing console with built in firewire to the computer - works great. The mixer itself is wonderful. I also record the midi from the kronos as I'm recording audio. I use Cubase 6 - and it's EXCELLENT!! It's nice being able to tweak the sounds a bit later if need be.
Too much equipment. What a bonehead.

I use my Yamaha AW1600 hdd recorder, or my Boss micro BR 80. I am happy with both.

Audio recording the Kronos is very good regardless of which route is used.

However, following simple basic tests, between line out, firewire and imac inputs, I've found that the best results is via usb directly into a computer.
The Kronos provides an excellent clear output level and maintains the audio in
digital domain.

Not tried the spdif method, though,so I can't make a comparison, but I think it would also be ok.

I use Cubase elements 6 on an imac, but most software and / or a pc should be just fine.

The choices are individual preferences....Whatever works is ok.

Best Wishes.
