Electribe 2 - Recording into Ableton Live 9

So I have finally got the Electribe running through Ableton Live 9 on a Midi Channel with an external instrument inserted and audio running through it too.

I want to try and record into Ableton from the Electribe but if I set Ableton recording and press on a pad, the Midi note lights red in the Piano roll but no notes record.

Could someone advise please?

Did you arm that track?

I have checked and it is recording into the arrangement view.

Do you have to assign each keypad to a different Midi channel because I am only recording in the first keypad even though I was pressing all to test.
