Currency exchange rates? New Taxes? Boosting profits on poorer sales figures?

Because the Thomann prices have gone up due to the Euro/Dollar changes.

UK Shops tent to price match against Thomann.

Its the Exchange rates

Sterling isn't doing that well against the Dollar currently.

It doesn't help that parliament has been dissolved in the UK and we have a general Election coming up,This also affects the countries Economics and trade abroad it did the same the last time we had an election.

You'll find that currency strength rates in the UK will change again after this period.

so if your planning on buying any DSI(or anything from the States) in the UK I would hold off till the end of May,

Euro Rates against the Sterling shouldn't really see any significant change.

I am going to have to wait - was going to be a birthday present in June. If the price stays that high (note that the Sub 37 is still the same price as it was) then I'll have to think of an alternative.

You may find that many of the items that have gone up are at the new buy in price for the retailers and they don't hold any in stock.

Some retailers may have the synth in stock like the Sub37 in which case the prices might not have altered until they've sold the older stock.

Well, a Sub37 is about 600 Euro cheaper than a Pro2 - and is very comparable in spec - so DSI ARE inherently very expensive ( a Pro12 is over 3300 Euro now).

I remember being so excited at MusikMesse when they announced they made a polyphonic Voyager. Visions of new MemoryMoogs flashed through my mind, until the guy explained that basically for each every extra note of polyphony you have to buy/add an extra Voyager...
How many voices is the Prophet 12 again? Is it 12? So 12x2800 or so...

bit worried about dsi

Post by RKfan »

Not sure its exchange rates.

Last week I was in a music store in Scotland. I asked abot the price rise. They didnt know about the reasons but they did say they were hard to get hold of and they thought that the current distributor may be being replaced.

so on Sunday I looked at the dsi forum and some contributors had referenced this post. As I was reading what they were saying access to these posts was interrupted. Went back to look today and cant find any of those posts.

I hope this doesn't mean something is up at dsi - Dave Smith is my absolute hero.
