APC UPS recommendation
Hello Team,
Since the Kronos is not a relaiable sinthetyzer for Gigs (susceptible to electric surges, etc ) I need a Power Backup, I have two model to choose, looking for weight and size, of course VA the first.
What do you think is the best for protecting my baby over the stage...I have in the studio 2 APC 1500...
1. APC BE550G Back-UPS 550VA
2. APC BE350G Back-UPS 350VA
Have you tried one of this UPS with the Kronos 2?
Thank you
Kronos 2, Krome, M3, Novation MkII 61, Roland Gaia et.

I have a UPS ES550 since I have the Kronos. It saved its life at least twice on bad gig conditions...I works fine. You have about 15 to 20 minutes with battery backup in case something goes wrong with power supply.

APC is the best as far as I'm concerned. I have 2 1500's. Although not the lightest it's not bad. I would take a 1500. It's fairly inexpensive and has room for a lot of other gear should the need arise.
But for just one synth it's a bit much. If You are really only trying to cover a power glitch so mush less will do for a single board. Look at the 350. If power is out for longer no one else will be playing anyway.

I have these in my studio, not only do they have WAY longer back up times, but also clean up the power with AVR Boost and Trim Automatic Voltage Regulation, Gives higher application availability by correcting low and high voltage conditions without using the battery. And you can have a ton of equipment hooked up. Not sure why it shows $298 on B&H site, on my b&h app it comes up for $164.. weird

I just got a CyberPower LE850G for gigging. It is a 850v a, 460 watt unit that weighs about 13 pounds. It is also relatively small and easy to transport. I got it because it was the right size, weight and power handling capacity. I have no idea about the brand or this model, which I believe was recently released by the manufacturer.
