Instead of a swappable firmware...
Instead of a swappable firmware Korg could just enable all filters/oscillators on the sampler, and sampling options on the normal model. I don't see any point other than flogging more units to add such tiny software differences between the 2 models.
I do not believe the sampler version will become unusable if Korg enabled all filter models and oscillators, the oscillators are not even needed due to single cycle waveforms. If this is how Korg is planning to make money now, the future will not promise much good.
Like I said before, Sony used to do this too. Walkman vs their normal phones. You could flash normal models with Walkman firmwares and not pay a premium. Korg is doing the same in a way.
Just enable all functions and have people choose a colour, like an Apple product.

It made sense on the volcas, they are analog so completely direct circuitry involved, not just different software. If they combined all 4, it would be roughly 4x the price still, and then the features don't support the price.Spheric El wrote:KP/KO ,manyTrons ,Volca marketing, just pushed a bit further.

Yeh ,I was thinking that ,but then ,psychologically should it matter what's inside?
Just a thought, but if they can make it and it is good enough ,then it shouldn't matter how they put it together or market it.
The're obviously cutting costs by using the box twice, sure, but it made more sense with KPs/KOs-
Yes ok I admit Volcas..bad example (but for us and our psychological relationship...If we were told its all different circuits..sorry,daydreaming here).

Well it's July now.
Anything new from the James Pullen bandwagon of rumours and speculation? I'm sure we will see the firmware drop very soon and fix everything like James Pullen said.
I find it funny that he constantly slags people off that do not like or talk about the downsides of the E2. He is the number 1 fanboy. And one of the few people that could actually report problems to Korg.
I guess he did not report anything cuz he keeps saying it is perfect. If you ask James the box is 100% fine, anyone with complaints isn't using it right or doesn't understand the concept. I wish I could use false arguments like that in my life.
I really hope Korg only paid him in hardware and not actual money. He did more bad than good. Specially with his swappable firmware claims. None of his claims so far have proven true. It is sad that Korg can not communicate with their customers directly and needs people like James Pullen.
