Kronos X won't boot after O.S. updates
Get a failure on boot of System Startup failure. Sent an email 2 days ago to support (under warranty), still haven't received a reply! No Tech Support phone, What's up with Korg these days? Two authorized repair centers in the area, neither available. I need to get this up and running asap. Sorry not to happy!
Anybody have this problem and fix it on their own?
Thanks in advance!

Turn off the Kronos, plug in your external DVD drive with the first Kronos DVD in. It will boot from the DVD. Follow instructions on the screen.
Korg KronosX73, Kurzweil PC3K6, Roland V-Synth GT, Kawai K5000S, Waldorf Blofeld, Novation Ultranova, Behringer Neutron, Yamaha HS80M, Boss Micro BR80, Zoom H6, Sony PCM D100, Tascam DP32SD, Mackie 1202VLZ4, Zoom MS-70CDR, Rode NT1, Sony MDR 7506.

Tried connecting my external usb dvd drive with the first Kronos bootable DVD in it and nothing. The drive and dvd are good, the bootup process doesn't get to the point of accessing USB ports is my guess. It only gets to the "s" under "Music" workstation.
Any other ideas, the Kronos hasn't been moved so I don't think there's a risk of disconnected ram or SSD drive.
Three days, no reply from Korg - Not impressed. Been buying Korg synths since the 80's, do expect more on a $3400 price tag.

There may be a very incomplete one floating around the forum. For now, have you checked the procedure in the manual? I've never done it, I think it's simply booting with the disc inside but maybe you need to hold a button or something? Does the DVD drive spin up at all? Mine is a bit finicky about power, if you have an extra powersupply for it try connecting it. Or mine has dual USB connectors and only works reliably with both connected.

Went through the manual in the Parameters guide, pretty much states connect drive while Kronos is on, pop in Disk 1, turn off kronos, wait 10 secs, reboot and wait till it comes to a menu then make your choice. Nothing else! Like you, I was thinking there might be a button or two to push. DVD drive works fine (It's a external slim line, aimed at laptop usage.)on my Win 8.1 box fine, when connected to the Kronos, spins up, activity LEDS flash but never gets to the menu. It's a external slim line, aimed at laptop usage.
So bummer, tomorrow, I'm going to take it apart and sure up connections and take some voltage readings out of the power supply. My research on the forum has come up with bad MBs, pwr supplies, corrupted boot sectors on SSD, mis and disconnected and not fully connected SATA connectors being the non obvious problems. Thanks again!!!

Sorry your service center hasn't been more responsive. Be very careful if you want to open it up yourself, especially if you're still under warranty. Checking connectors and RAM should be fine (FWIW, you have the same symptoms I had when my RAM was loose), just make sure you're not carrying any static.

Kronos X up and running again!!! Yeah!!!!
Opened her up, everything was tight, reseated ram, and Sata cables reboot, failed, so went and tried a LG GP50 DVD Writer External USB at boot up to no avail, After scouring the forums for compatible DVD's, it appeared the Samsung SE-208AB-TSBS worked for a few people in the same predicament.
Ordered it online from Ebay along with a Tripplite LS606M Voltage Regulator to complement the existing Cyberpower 425VA battery backup. Power in this old house likes to brown out a lot, so the Tripplite should take care of that being it's a "Buck\Boost" circuit that attempts to keep the voltage at 120vac.
Anyway did the Full install and it rebooted, lost my banks, so will have to reinstall, not a big deal considering thinking I had an expensive paperweight on my hands.
Thanks for all the help especially SanderExpander!

Ok it lasted for 1 reboot and it died, just ran the Format and Full Install, starting to think the SATA cable at the SSD is funky or the SSD is FUNKY because when I first attempted to use the new Samsung DVD it wouldn't boot, then I turned it off, turned it on, went downstairs for dinner and after din din, there was the menu!!!
