Touring Solution

Post by synthterborg »

I am going to be touring a lot out of my local area in the coming year. I have been using a Kronos X 88 for a while now and have all my material for the groups programmed into the board.
It seems backline on the board is not as available as it was in the Triton/Trinity days. Also there is not a rack alternative for the Kronos.
As such, I wanted to get some thoughts on how any of you would find a solution for this dilemma. Cost for shipping my board is not feasible all the time but I loath thinking about trying to recreate all my sounds for either other boards and or VIs. Some of the sounds are not duplicatable and if going to controllers, redoing all the splits and layers would just be a royal pain.
So how would a Kronos lover make his sound portable?
I appreciate all input.

Maybe you could buy a Kronos 61, program everything there and hire just any 88 controller keyboard you can find.

Honestly I would expect the band to pay for shipping. But if that's not happening, perhaps call your local Korg distributor (USA?), explain the situation and show how many venues you'll be playing, perhaps they're willing to help you out with some loaners in different locations.
