Two setup questions

Post by stef01 »

Hi,

i am following this forum for some time now and now is the first time that i address my 'issues' or better.. wishes to you all.. maybe someone could help on that...

1. for my live setup i have splitted kronos 73 into several zones.. and this is wirking just fine.. but... i would need to have clap resp. to play clap with the drum... as my hands are occupied my question.. is it possible to put on for example a switch pedal a certain sound or a part of the sound (in this case a clap from a drum program) to this switch pedal so I could be able to play clap with my leg?

2. How can i make the same sound as trumpet fall with the strings?

tx for your help

The answer to 1, is: Yes you can.

- Connect the pedal to the "switch" input on the Kronos
- In "Global"-mode, select the "Controllers/Scales" tab
- Select "pad1" (or whatever number pad you prefer) as the assignment under "Foot Switch Assign" (On the top of the screen)
- Write global settings (From the top right corner)

Now go to your combi: (Channel selection only available in combi/seq)
- Choose the "EQ/Vector/Control" tab
- Go the the "Pad" tab all the way to the right
- Press to disable "Enable Pad Play"
- On pad1 (or whatever number you selected), set the midi ch for the drums (Normally 10)
- Assign the notes and velocities that you want to trigger (up to 8 ), disable the others
- Write the program

And now - step on the pedal/switch.

This should work for you.

For number 2 you could try this Brass Fall via KARMA:
http://www.karma-lab.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7191

I'm spending part of my holiday (a LOT of it actually) trying to understand KARMA on my kronos and stumbled across this one.
Thankfully the PCG is attached and you may well be able to replace the brass sound with a string, or just copy the KARMA GE from it to your chosen string sound.

Hi Robw70... i did download your brass fall.. but what happened is that I've, after opening this sound, deleted ALL sound from U-F bank. So, now i have only ONE sound.. :(

how can i revert resp load default sounds into this bank?

thanks

Go to DISK mode and select the FACTORY folder. Press OPEN, until you see bank F and then LOAD it. The OPEN button will go all the way to the programs in the bank that you select. You can load just one program, if you like.

You could just use a pitch envelope in the program. I've done this on patches where it maintains the pitch while I hold the key, and when I let go it falls as the sound decays. If you wanted it to be velocity sensitive like the brass falls, you can just assign velocity to Env depth.
