Kronos - Integra 7

Post by swarupmahapatra »

Hello Friends,

Does anyone own an Integra 7 with Kronos? I am planning on buying one and researching on the possibilities.

If I connect the Integra 7 to Kronos over MIDI and then create a combi having one tone from the Integra 7 in the combi and save it. Will the Kronos remember that tone in the next boot up?

Like I create a combi -

1. Kronos Strings
2. Kronos Flute
3. Integra 7 sax

Will the Kronos remember the I7 program on next boot up?
Thanks
-Swarup

Yep. Kronos is a fantastic midi controller for external modules. Combination mode is where you save your setup that calls program changes to external modules like the Integra. Search for EXT or EX2 Status in the Kronos Parameter Guide. Selecting EX2 in the Combi timbre status selection allows you to store the LSB/MSB program changes for the external module.

The Integra is a great match for the Kronos.

The Integra "Studio Set" compares to the Kronos "combi" on many levels:
- 16 timbres/programs, each assignable to MIDI channels 1-16
- level, 4 band eq, pan, transpose, keyboard and velocity range for each timbre/program
- the Kronos' "tone adjust" is similar to the Integra's offsets for filter cutoff, resonance, attack, decay, release

Rather than changing individual programs within a studio set, you might instead want to consider creating a corresponding studio set to match up to a combi. This way, in Set List mode you can use the Kronos as the master to pull up the matching studio set on the Integra. This gives you really fat "multi-combis". The Integra has some really good acoustic instruments and guitars with articulations, an excellent drum synth (the equivalent of a $1000 Roland electronic drumset brain), and its many synth sounds are iconic, and easily accessed by an efficient and comprehensive categorization system.
