Global audio input effects
I’m a fairly new Kronos user and hope someone can answer a question about using effects on an audio input from the global screen that are persistent across programs and combinations.
I’ve been very pleased using the global input for a microphone and guitar into one of the insert effects. Then, I can chain these to other effects inside the program.
I can spend a great deal of time getting several affects perfect and they work wonderfully so long as I stay within that program. But, if I switched from an organ sound, for example, to a piano sound I have lost the effects chain for the microphone and have to start over in the new program.
Does anyone have any idea how to put several effects together at a global level and have them follow from program to program or combination to combination? I have thought about creating a combination with the microphone and then just selecting programs within that combination. But I am hopeful that there would be a better way.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you!

effects
Thank you for the reply! I was afraid this was the case. I've been inactive for so long that my rack outboard effects are not nearly as good as what's in the Kronos. I do have a Symmetrix microphone processor that sounds great, but it has no effects. I suppose it's not that much trouble to configure the programs each time when I want to use the microphone. Thanks again

I don't think there is such a way to do this globally but I have a notebook that I write down my favorite effects and chains I find on the Kronos. But externally I think what you're truly referring to would be a "vocal chain" and the Kronos is rather dependent on settings per program, sequence etc. like Voip said.
Hi all, I too have wanted a global audio setup. As I read starting on Page 770 of the Parameter manual, it seems this might be possible. However, I have not been able to get it to work. Is Global audio just for the mixer settings?
Manual seems to suggest otherwise.

Pa5X, Pa4X, KronosX, BIAB, Cakewalk
In Global mode, the Audio tab is used to set up the routing of up to six external inputs, these being analogue inputs 1 and 2, incoming audio over USB 1 and 2, and incoming audio over S/P DIF L & R. These can be routed through the Insert Effects of the currently selected Program or Combi and, in addition, the Send levels to the Master Effects of the current Program or Combi can be set.
There are no effects specifically associated with Global mode, nor selectable from Global mode. The effects architecture is determined in the Program or Combi being used, and Global mode only allows setting up of the routing of the external signals through those effects.

On page 770 they describe it as an "either or" situation.
Either you can use the global paremeters setting that will effect the overall output of all sounds coming from the keyboard or you can choose to turn Off the Global paremeters Setting and individually set your effects for each programs or combi's you choose to use individually so that your effects will be specific to the program, combi that you choose. etc. etc.
I believe OP was trying to have a standard input global setting for vocals that they could use along with the independent effects settings for each individual program. The Kronos won't let you do that.
The closest thing I know to doing what OP wants is on the Sequencer. On a song you can freely copy your IFX chain on to other songs you create so you can continually spam your IFX settings if need be. It's tedious but that's the Kronos for you.
But if they really wanted to use a vocal chain they liked they could just set up a track for the vocals using the desired effects chain they wanted and then set up instruments on the other tracks using whatever other effects they wanted for them...and then when it came time to work on a new project just copy the vocal IFX chain on over to a new song.

I appreciate all the responses!
I guess I'm being a little lazy because it's just not that hard to route the audio input to an IFX that I set to to noise gate. The next one compressor, the next one chorus or delay, and the final one reverb. It just doesn't take that much time and I can copy the settings as somebody suggested.
I just thought I would ask if there were a way to automate the settings and chain because if anybody would know, it's the people here!
Thank you!
