yes....
well the SGX-1 engine on kronos, IMHO is truly designed to emulate a real acoustic piano.... while stage piano's voice (including the ex2) is tuned specifically for stage uses (little bright with punchy lows i guess)... it does explains it... the sgx-1 engine didn't cut really well live, because a real piano (real grand) doesn't have that punchy lows and cutting highs (my experience with a real grand, but not concert grand)... if you hear at youtube videos, it's the miking technique that gaves it punchy lows.... naturally, all instruments lacks bass... from cello, acoustic bass, to a real grand... its the miking and the amp that gave them EQ that makes them cuts through well on live situation... so, the SGX engine is what it is (and is good in it's own way)!! try to tune it's 3 band EQ if you wish it to cuts well through stage... the SGX engine is PERFECT for recording and classical soloing.... for stage, you have to tune it, or use EXs2 (on EXs2 my favorite is the St. concert grand.... it sounds huge)
you can try kurzy samples as well.... but the kurzy sample never sound properly if not being played on the kurz itself (my opinion)
I have a gig on 22 and 24 so i'll try them both i guess

The Oasys on the Central Coast is mine. You are wlecome to come up and have a play on it if you like, no obligation at all. It's easter weekend so a great time to come up and spend a day on the Coast, so why not call in for an hour or two ?
Bring up your Kronos and compare them side-by-side if you like. I have a PA3X here too that you can have a go on.
Hope you're well. Just wondering if by any chance your Oasys is still available for sale?
Cheers,
Mike
