Like most things in the modern era, music is controlled by the top 1%. I've met some ruthless people in the music industry who are not in the industry for the love of music, but the love of money and status. The artist is just a commodity.
There are hundreds of songs that were written 30 years ago that will still be played 30 years from now. Today's music is like fast food and is quickly forgotten.
Digital music is wonderful and allows us to create amazing creative projects and we are in an era where we can sit in our houses and play some amazing machines.
