Electricity travels slower than light in wires but it's still pretty fast. I won't go into the math as it involves complex numbers. And using thinner wires for higher frequencies is BS. There's something called skin effect at radio frequencies but not at audio. It's all designed to make money from mugs. And talking about BS, there's a lovely quote in the New Scientist from the Aussie Homeopathic Association saying that "Homeopathy is to do with the quantum energy field" . Couldn't stop laughing.

Wow! That's way too funny! Mind you, by that logic, "wellness" has something to do with aquifers! And possibly holes in the ground!

I am familiar with the skin effect and electricity but when I was the ad a long time ago, all I could do was laugh. Money form mugs indeed!

Just to throw my own two-cents in here.

It is not necessarily true that balanced cables will sounds better than unbalanced. Balanced signals are great for overcoming induced noise on longer cable runs, but require either transformer balancing, or servo balancing. Both of these types of circuits introduce certain compromises to the signal chain - they have a (very) slight impact on the overall signal fidelity, they are not transparent. In most cases, the advantages of noise suppression outweigh the disadvantages.

For short cable runs, where there is little risk of noise being inducted, unbalanced is often fine. For longer runs, or any live situation where there is less control over cabling, balanced is a must.

In my modest home studio, I use both TRS and TS cables.

Just my thoughts on the questions no-one is asking.
