well you know for sure they can't set their prices... it's probably predetermined based on the repair. x amount of hours... x $s per hour.Bertotti wrote:Curious how do these warranty service places get paid for warranty work?
there you go. You got expert advice on something complex and importantapex wrote:I didn't want to take any chances on voiding my warranty. I did contact my Korg Service Center (nearest one) and I send him a link to my video.MarPabl wrote:So the solution I proposed didn't solve the issue?apex wrote:I'm the original poster for this thread and the youtube video...
I've had lots of suggestions as to what could be wrong with that F# key... but what about that Bb?
Thanks.
When "recalibrating" the keybed, you must be very careful to get equal separation between every single key and the front base. Otherwise, you may find that those noises will be solved for some notes, but may appear in other notes.
And yes, I also think the quality of the keybed is big crap. I've actively participated on the threads about this issue. After 3 Kronos I had (88 keys), I got the last one fixed but waited months for that. And this "recalibration" thing is annoying, but required. I've even faced issues where some keys need more force to be pressed. "Luckyly", those issues have been solved by applying the solution I pointed out.
This was his response.
"It needs new felt and that requires a full disassembly of every key. "
3 week turn around. This guy has done awesome work for me in the past!
the ' country distributor ' funds the warranty based on predetermined rates and cost of partsBertotti wrote:Curious how do these warranty service places get paid for warranty work?
if the service center was dishonest, they would lose their service franchise for the entire manufacturer product line. That would seem extremely foolish.Bertotti wrote:Do they ever "pad" the work? Like some auto service shops? I would like to think not but it was just a thought. I would suggest a second opinion on the work needed. Your guy might be the most honest in the world but since it is such an invasive operation, one that could affect the Keybed it self, a second opinion might be warranted from Korg, maybe?
