Fan low speed setting - is it safe?
I would like to ask some Korg technicians, is it safe having this setting always on? Because temperature in my Kronos gets to 71 C. To what degree it is safe? Or is this setting meant and tested only for Kronos 2 with possibly better CPU/motherboard/vents ?
Hello.
While I'm not a Korg technician and the only place you should really expect a reply from one is by emailing KORG, I can however add that it is safe to leave it set to Low if that's what temp your KRONOS is maxing out at.
Either way, the KRONOS will spin the fan up to full speed regardless of what setting you have entered when it needs to cool down.
Regards
Sharp.

That's good news) Even if motherboard or CPU will burn, I guess we could easily substitute it with another PC parts, as I hope it is a standard general usage mb. And Korg circuitry connects to it via usb and do not gets hot too much. Only if PSU dies and gives out 220 V instead of 5 V, then Kronos will die forever for sure(..
Hi Everyone, since the topic is about the temperature of the KK, I would like to ask about my kk issue.
Actually I have posted here few days back about "fan cooling!" message tha appear on my upper middle screen of my kk. it will appear if I'm using it somewhere there is no air condition. temp is about 67C - 72C. maybe anyone here have experience these issue. coz if I'm using it inside my room with the air condition it won't appear. it's just bothering me the moment it appears on my screen. it seems that you need to turn off your kk ryt away.
Thank you.

Why would you think you can substitute the motherboard - and what's a "standard usage" mb anyway? They all use drivers and they need to work with the OS. I think you'd have to get the same mb to get a Kronos going again. If it was that simple to substitute other mbs, people would be putting in superfast everything to hotrod their Kronos. Not sure what would happen to the registration number of the machine also if the mb was changed - could be a problem if you had purchased expansion sample libraries.Aziz1008 wrote:That's good news) Even if motherboard or CPU will burn, I guess we could easily substitute it with another PC parts, as I hope it is a standard general usage mb.
