Hi UK Kronos people

I have been offered a new Kronos 2 (61) in exchange for my 1st gen Kronos (61) + £1,400 in cash (from local music store)

Does that sound reasonable ?

Thanks in advance

Steve

What did you pay for de K1 and when did you buy it?

That sounds like an awful deal to me. Is your original Kronos expanded? If so, they are essentially the same machine, just the V2 comes with a few extra sounds.

Hi - I paid £1,500 for it (second hand not long after they first came out) so I've plenty of money's worth - it's never been upgraded other than OS to 3.02 - I really like the look of the Kronos 2 - probably a very shallow thing on my part :-)

It's an excellent offer from a dealer ! All the best !

Since you paid 1500 for it second hand shortly after it came out, wouldn't you expect to be able to find a similarly priced K2 soon? Seems really strange to trade in an almost identical board AND pay again what you already paid

Thanks Sander - I hate to say it but I think you're right ... :-)

Why not spend the £1400 on an extra synth to go with the K1? Like an access virus/prophet 6 or something that offers a different sound pallate , then you'll have 2 boards...?

Good point Anthony - now I'm thinking virus or JP 08 - the slippery slope of just one more synth :-)

You've got the hardware already, Omnisphere goes with the Kronos perfectly.
For my money...Omnisphere has much better sounds than the kronos.
And its a LOT easier to massage its sounds.
