ams triggered/delayed EG

Here is what I need to do.

LFO AMS controlled by an Envelope.
I need to trigger / mix in the envelope only on some event like y+ or ribbon or a switch etc.

the problem, is i am not able to control the envelope amount over time. i.e I Don't want it to sound right away on note on.

I understand that I will also have to retrigger it , but not sure how to tame its mix level?
any ideas?

I don't know how to retrigger an envelope but for the rest you could try the AMS mixers?

Also, if you have a hand free to grab a joystick, can't you just manually create the needed motion?

Thanks, for the insight.
i Haven't gotten to ams mixers yet, will look into those now to understand them.

I can use joystick in some cases, but with a long attack and release type envelopes, it gets hard to keep at it and other things as the hand in engaged.

what I want to do is bring in a little complexity/modulation Within a held chord/pad and think the envelope would to be the best way to control how it comes in and goes.

Might I suggest aftertouch?

I don't know of a way to retrigger envelopes but I've never needed to, perhaps it can be done.

AMS Mixer is the way to make it.

I have made an example where LFO4 & EG4 are used. LFO4 is dedicated to pitch control, and EG4 control LFO4 intensity. You can trigger the LFO/EG action with Switch1. When SW1 is off, nothing happen. At any moment in your track, when you switch on SW1, the action on the pitch occurs.

Is that what you want to do? If so, I will explain your AMS settings in detail. Just want to make sure this is what you need.

@Coyote144: yes, that is similar to what I want.

@sanderXpander,
thx aftertouch is great idea.

On another patch I want to bring Osc2 in and out through an envelope like a fade in " one-shot" and fadeout.

Am playing with ams mixers now, Haven't gotten what I want yet, but should be doable.

EG reset : Retriggers the envelope.

now I am sure about what you need, I can explain further, whit a EXi1 in a AL1 program. Initialize a AL1 program.

Assign AMS Mixer 2 to the paramater you need to modulate. Set a value to intensity, depending on the modulation intensity you need.

Go to AMS Mixer.

AMS Mixer 1:
type: multiplier (AMT AxB).
AMS A: EG4. Amount 0
AMS B: LFO4: Amount: +50

This first AMS mixer is dedicated to multiply (not add!) AMS A ans AMS B, and can be interpreted in that way: "when EG4 is on, LFO4 is on, and its intensity is +50 on the signal.

Now you will need a second AMS mixer 2, to trigger the effect only when you switch on SW1.

AMS Mixer 2:
Mixer Type: Gate
Gate control: SW1 MOD.
Control at note on only: off.
Threshold: +50
Gate output: below threshold, fixed value = 0
At&above Threshold: AMS mixer 1.

This AMS mixer 2 setting can be translated in that way: "when SW1 is on, AMS mixer 1 is activated. If not, AMS Mixer 1 is off".

Once it is done, you have to make sure EG4 is triggered only when SW1 is on.

Go to EG Tab, select EG4.
Select SW1 as the "EG Reset" parameter. Put the Threshold to +30.

now, when you play with SW1 off, there is no modulation. When you put SW1 to on, at any moment, even if you sound is already triggered, the LFO action will begin.

As SW1 is a "permanent" trigger (it is ON until you push it again), you will have to switch it off after the effect is finished. Otherwise, the LFO action will be re-triggered at any key strike. But this permanent trigger allow you to just hit the SW1 once to have the effect. You will not have to let your finger on the SW1 to keep the LFO action running.

Hope that helps.

Thx,
It has gotten me close to what I needed.
