No more drum mic position and room ambience sliders ?

Post by chris »

Hi Kronos users,

When I go to an ambient drum program such as UA009 Rock ambient drum I can't use sliders 1 and 2 anymore to change both mic position and room ambience.

The Timbre/Track button is lit but when I look at the control panel it seems that sliders 1 and 2 only control the volume of both oscillator 1 and 2.

Did I miss something on my Kronos 1 or is it a bug in the new OS 3.0.4? :?:

Thanks for your help.

I'm using OS 3.0.4 and trying UA009 "Rock Dry/Ambi Kit SnOn" right now.

With Tibre Track selected for the control panel, sliders 1 and 2 control the close-in and room ambience levels, respectively. Slider 3 controls the volume of the drum track, when that is playing, so all seems OK. Some of the other drum kits "nearby", such as UA006 "Jazz Kit Ambience 3 Mic" only use one "Oscillator" so one of the two sliders is greyed out.

UA009 "Rock Dry/Ambi Kit SnOn" is a two "Oscillator" drum kit. Is it possible it has been edited in some way? In the Basic/Vector | Program Basic screen, Double Drums should be selected as the Oscillator Mode, with the dry sounds of Osc1 coming from UA04 "Rock Ambi Kit SnOn Dry", and Osc 2 supplying the ambient sounds coming from UA05 "Rock Ambi Kit SnOn Amb1".

Thanks for your reply voip.

I have indeed double drums as oscillator mode and when going to control surface I have osc volume written above the first two osc sliders. Somehow when fading down it mutes completely the oscillator.

Is this a case of one fader completely muting the drum sound and the other having no effect? If so, and if neither fader is "greyed" out, then it's worth looking elsewhere. In the Timbre Track control panel screen, is either oscillator muted? If both oscillators are set to "Play", is the EQ Trim control set to the correct value (99) for each oscillator? Has the vector volume control been enabled and set to a low volume for one of the oscillators? It should be disabled for this Program. On the Program main screen, have either of the Amp1 or Amp2 levels been set to a low value, rather than 127? Are the Key Zones for Osc1 and Osc2 both set to bottom = C-1, top = C9? Do the filter settings look OK, and filter input trim set to Osc1 = 99, Osc2 = 50? Is there anything out of place in the Global Drum menus?
