Korg Volca Bass Change sequence length

I recently bought a Korg Volca Bass and am enjoying it immensely.

I'm sure this is a newbie question but Is there any way of shortening the sequence from 16 steps down to 12 or less or any number?

I think I'm right in saying you could do this with the Active Step settings.
