Replacing buttons

Post by methusala »

Hi,

A few of my buttons are not working after a number of years of pressing. To re-place them, I'm going to have to lift the lid and get into the inner workings. I have the Oasys but this thread will apply to the Kronos too---I'm sure. There must be someone who has done this successfully.

I've got the parts. The patient has been anaesthetised and is lying on the hospital trolley. I have the required instruments (screwdrivers--do I need a soldering iron too ?). Is there a thread or video for this surgical operation ?

Pad 4 has now given up the ghost in sympathy with the number 4 on the numerical pad. It doesn't halt the creative process though.

I'll stick my head out that THERE IS NOBODY OWNING THE OASYS USED FAIRLY REGULARILY WHERE ALL THE BITS ARE STILL WORKING FAULTLESSLY.--if so, you probably use as feather duster.

Can anyone help me in the right direction here ?

Regards,
Patrick
I'm ok when I get to the music. The Oasys 88 sees to that.

I've changed buttons on my Triton Classic, I think OASYS has the same clicking buttons, and yes, you will need soldering iron. Don't be afraid, it's just a Pentium 4 PC!)) But do not overheat its PBC.

I'm probably going to get scolded over how I do this, but WD-40 on the contacts will solve it. Check your thread in the OASYS forum.

I won't scold you Mike.

I just... shudder a little bit. That's all.

Thanks Mike for your time putting your reply + video. Thanks all. The patient has had a reprieve. WD40 it is. It wont solve the pad button--or will it? I'll give this a try.
