Factory samples for volca sample

Trying to restore Factory samples on my volca sample. Every time it goes to error and freezes on the 8th step key. Anyone know how to get through this?

Have you tried clearing the existing samples first - to make sure there's sufficient storage available?

Yep. Sample bay is empty.

Hmm. Have you done all the other stuff they advise: turning off "Beats Audio" and other FX, trying at different volume settings and so forth?

Some brands of laptop (HP and others I think) have "Beats By Dre" audio built in, which adds compression and EQ ("phatterising") to any audio playback. I know this has stopped sample transfer from working for some Volca users.
There are various ways of deactivating it:

Anyway, it may not be the cause of your problems.
