Hi All. I played my Krome 73 at a gig with our 5 piece band. Guitar, Bass, Drums, me on keys and a singer. I use the Krome for Piano, synth, strings etc. and a Hammond SK1 for organs an a couple other sounds.

I created a combi to punch up the piano sound. I used 3 timbres of the Live Stage Piano patch and ran it through a 7 band equalizer IFX, with each of the zones up to about a 6 just to give more omph.

While it sounded full, it just didn't seem to cut through the band well.

Can anyone tell me what they've done, which keyboard sounds you've used (built in or purchased) to give the pianos more power to cut through the mix?

The Korg M1 piano is pretty good at cutting through the mix. In a solo, it is not at all convincing, but shines through when there are other instruments playing.

Try the Krome Program A034 M1 Piano, and see how it goes.

I use the Krome and an SV-1 (very similar sounding pianos) in a 5-piece band, and an 11-piece band.

I actually find the very first Krome piano patch "Grand Piano" or whatever it's called, comes through pretty nicely.

I do EQ the SV-1 APs a little bit for the 11-piece, I boost the high a reasonable amount and the mid a tiny bit. Cuts through a treat.
