I'm not a gearhead so I need to ask another 'how to' question.
I have a Kronos X61. At times (often) I simply like to play along with some music from my MP3 library on my PC. I generally do this late when wife is sleeping. She asked if I could do this through my headphones.
So, my question is, how can bridge the two together without dishing out for expensive gear? PC has a Creative Labs SB X-Fi sound card, the usual array of USB ports, 1/8 mic & headphone jacks.
Any good working suggestions would be appreciated.

You can get a 1/8" stereo to a pair of 1/4" mono cable. Plug the 1/8" into the output of the computer and the two1/4" plugs into the two inputs of the Kronos. There are several places to adjust the volume in the Kronos.
You may be able to do his with a single USB cable with the proper USB drivers. Either way will work.

I just plug a USB into my computer and into the Kronos. In my computer sound options I can then select the Kronos as the audio output rather than internal speakers. Then I use the global settings in the Kronos to send the USB cleanly to the headphone output (you could add effects if you wanted). The Kronos acts as a pretty good output source - but obviously not as good as a high quality DAC.
