Well after almost 9 weeks of my Kronos just sat in a work shop not being attended to, dv have finally come good and are shipping me out a brand new Kronos 2 friday. They admit the timescale was unacceptable and also for not have made any contact with myself with any updates.

Only thing is even though it is brand new, it wont have a full 3 year warranty only 1 year now because of the time i have had with the original kronos 1 for

Hurray…finally !!!
Pleased you're having a new replacement and an "upgrade" as well….
The warranty is per usual continuation of dv247 terms,so it's to be expected to be only for one year.
Probably if anything that
may go wrong will be within that period anyway (Er um…?).
You could try to register the Kronos with Korg and find out if an extended guarantee can be granted, as with new keyboards etc.
(There may be a clause preventing this for replacement instruments, though, but worth finding out….from Korg themselves).
Did you have any bought libraries ?
If so,….Are they now lost ?
Enjoy the new one !!
Best Wishes.

nah didnt get any sound libraries normally find the user ones better amd more suited to my style. Well if we are still in the EU after tomorrow "not to start a political debate lol" manufacturers warranty is two years under eu law. only thing is and from experience when i used to work for samsung there are certain warranties that are not covered by the manufacurer and normally the serial number is different and korg would know straight away

So pleased you now have a Kronos to play !!!
By the way, having read through warranty terms etc….I was wrong to suggest trying for an extension from Korg.
A replacement item will only continue to be covered with any remaining warranty that may exist…..which,apparently,is a common condition of terms.
The dealer have fulfilled their part, thankfully.
I wonder if Korg had some input regarding the decision….??
Anyway, hope your new one will be trouble free.
Enjoy.

I dont think korg made a decision because when I called the retailer he spoke to the returns team and came back to me in 5 mins to advise it had indeed took far too long to repair and they arranged to replace it with a K2 because they dont make K1s anymore. I have to say that the K2s is a much more premium product than the original kronos. It is solid and well built and has gold plated phonos. The original kronos felt very cheap in my opinion were as the k2 feels like a solid beast like the m1

As someone who manfactures high-end instruments I can assure you that the rising cost of raw materials and machining, chassis and case design all come together to provide the overall integrity of the strength and durability of the modern boards - you can double the RRP and have your robustness - but you'll still moan about the bugs and sounds. If you want a touchscreen then there's little point putting it into a titanium case - buy a spare, they're cheap enough - and comparing an M1 to a Kronos is like comparing a wooden cased TV to a flat panel TFT.
What kinda job do you have to be able to just buy a spare because their cheap enough? Come back the the real world man.
