external MIDI

Post by silon »

Hi...
I have a 80's keyboard (KAWAI MK10) that supports MIDI so I thought I could try it and see what it can do together with KRONOS. I connected them with MIDI cable and they do communicate. MK10 can use multiple MIDI channels to transmit information to a similar KAWAI device (tones, melody, rhytms etc), but it seems that all note information is going to KRONOS through MIDI channel 1.
Given this, is there a way to achieve the following: Play a KRONOS program sound on this keyboard and another program sound on KRONOS itself. (Or further, split KRONOS keyboard and have three sounds available). Up to now I can only have same sound playing for both keyboards.
Thank you
