Just upped my First E2 in Blue track... Any comments pls?

Post by WestLondoner »

Hi folks,

It's confession time - I've never posted any track online before, but today I've upped my début (under the name of 'Preternature'), and it's 100% composed using my week old E2 Blue Electribe.

Would love to hear any comments please?

Cheers for now :-)

77 views and no one gave you any input? Weak.

I dig the sounds you created man, definitely has flow to it and it's nice and smooth. My only critique is, it's 7 minutes long with no beat and doesn't really go anywhere. I feel like I kept waiting for something to happen that never came.

I will tell you this, it's worlds better than the s**t I was making when I only had my E2 for a week. Keep it up!

Thank you for your honest criticism BubbleTrailsMusic, it's very much appreciated.

And fair enough on the beat. The ol' repetitive 4/4 was more of a tempting challenge for me on my new blue E2, than anything else. For some reason I was tempted to try and compose a track around it, if only to see if I could squeeze just one more drop of life from the (now) distant past. Happy to admit, my drum beats usually do a lot more... But there ya go. Anyway, I've since upped another one named "A Better Life", inspired by the continuing immigration crisis, done on my ESX1SD, which I would hope you'd (and others...) would find has, at the very least, a lot more zest to its beat!!! ;-)

cheers for now, and again your feedback is v v much appreciated :-)

A Better Life is awesome man, trippy s**t! Dig it. I'm actually in touch with another dude from London who makes pretty cool stuff on his Tribe. When he is back from holiday we're going to collab on a track. Holler at me on FB & SC! Keep up the trippy stuff bruv.

thank you v v much for complimenting "A Better Life", am really encouraged to read your feedback. :-)

Of your tracks, I really liked both 'Maya Hopping' and 'Count it', but I've also got to be honest with you on another matter - surely your music deserves better than that cellphone audio recording? Methinks 'Maya Hopping' would sound so much better, breathe so much more musical life, if you'd only re-record with something *even* half decent, then re-up. this is said with full on respect so I just hope you'd agree with me?

Those two tracks are not cell phone recorded they are direct in from my mixer to Audacity, with no mastering or editing- all of my stuff is recorded live of me playing, I don't do any post. The only one with complete s**t audio is the "Live to Serve" video I have on YouTube, which is why it's not on my SC. Which sucks because it's an awesome funky track- I need to record it properly.

Also "Maya Hopping" is the first track I ever made on the Electribe, I have since gone back and made it WAYYYY sicker. Getting ready to play this festival, I am going back and fine tuning all my tracks now that I have so much more knowledge on how to harness the limited power of the E2.

I am going to try to upload the new version of Maya tonight, it is a huge improvement. Love the feedback brotha.

Hi Bubbletrails, I for one am looking forward to hearing the new version because the old recording doesn't do it any justice, *even if* was an audacity job, and not via your cellphone. There is definitely a very good track in there somewhere, waiting to be unleashed ;-)
