Build Ups, Drops, & Breakdowns

Curious how others achieve big changes in their tracks by using build-ups, drops, & breakdowns.
A couple methods that work for me:
-For snare rolls I copy the same snare sound I'm using for the beat and keep it muted until I'm ready to transition. Also, will sometimes apply a 32 roller to it for about half of the last measure (depending on track). For Kick rolls I usually do something similar.
-I use HPF Noise Osc's with filter sweeps motion captured. Sweep up filter to transition out, and sweep down on the next pattern.
-Killing any Master Effect Hold that was held on the previous pattern really helps tighten things up on a breakdown or drop. (For example: use HP Delay Master FX to build a lot, then next pattern have it off)
-Reverse rides/crashes are really good for making transitions smoother (combine with HPF Noise Sweep)
- Also I will have an OSC that I MoCap a pitch sweep from -63 to +63 beginning to end. Now there is a trick to this one when you make it: Hold the note to record a continuous TIED tone throughout whole pattern, next record your motion capture of the pitch up sweep. You will notice when the pattern resets for the first few notes you will hear the highest possible pitch because it takes a second to reset your motion capture. Use sequencer to delete beginning steps one at a time until you don't hear the high note.
There now you guys have some of my secrets, what are yours?
