Harmonizer on Kronos. How to make?

I recently asked a task for the Kronos - whether it is possible to assign to each key chord? and so on different keys were different chords (minor, major). That is - to make a harmonizer (preferably with the possibility of adjustments each chord stage). For example - with one hand to make the phrase:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nLrktd ... I&index=29 (0:38 - 0:45).
To the second hand was free (it's just an example, there is a more high-speed Party of that are to play in one hand triads impossible). When the intervals are not changed - it's very simple to do, but when the intervals - are changing, I can not figure out how it can be done at Kronos.

Apparently, it's impossible! Be more exact it can be done, but because Combi and Sequencer have 16 MIDI tracks, you can make a harmonizer 5-8 keys no longer.

I had to tune down to match and learn the keyboard part on the youtube video, but it is somewhat possible to do.
The main melody in B flat minor is repeated twice -- with the second time being harmonized.
For the harmony part, notice that it is in octaves -- the third below and the 6th above the main melody. This means you should program a separate timbre just for the harmony part, and make sure its two oscillators are set an octave apart.
Now set the keyboard range for the harmony part so that its lowest note is the G flat above the main melody's root B flat note. Of course, the main melody timbre should also have its highest note set at the F just below that G flat of the harmony timbre.
Now you can play with one hand the main melody with the harmony part a sixth above (and the harmony part's second oscillator will sound one octave lower, which makes it a 3rd below the melody line). It will take a bit of practice if you want to mimic the legato portamento phrasing to be somewhat close to the original track.
The beauty of using a separate timbre for the harmony part is that you can choose a sound that is slightly different in quality, with slightly different portamento times and even slightly different vibrato rates/amount. I would be sure to also set the harmony part's volume lower than the main melody, so as not to overpower the main line. Hope that helps.

it was just an example. For each case, you can think of something (eg - when one of the votes - a quart or fifth, then the principal and the vote will take only 2 midi tracks, remain another 14 tracks). Thank you for your advice!

The Kronos has Chord mode, which uses one of the chords assigned to the pads and allows it to be played in different keys, though it probably isn't going to be versatile enough to cater for this situation. Worth playing with, though, just to see what it can do.

Using the pads to play chords assigned to keyboard notes, you can at least harmonize a melody/solo with 8 or less melody notes, which is more often the case than not... versatile enough to use a custom setting for each combi, which means a custom harmony melody line for each song that needs it.
The Korg arranger series does include TC Helicon intelligent harmony FX, but I think for vocals only. The Kronos does not itself have an automatic, intelligent harmony feature... unless somehow Karma can do this...

Yes, it would be nice if the next station (Kronos 3) will be able to connect 16 or more pads, with the appointment of the external MIDI keyboard. This would allow the use of Kronos as a harmonizer.

More chord pads would be quite useful in some situations.
Karma recognises chords being played, but I'm not sure if it can be used as a harmoniser, as such. That would be a nice feature.

Now I try to connect nanoPAD2 and nanoKEY2 to KRONOS. Also I installed the program KorgKontrol Editore. Unfortunately it is impossible to assign pads on nanoKEY2, you can only assign the pads nanoPad2. But on the pads inconvenient to play a quick melody.

Another workaround just occurred to me. With User Scales, you can set it so that each note can be adjusted up or down a semitone or more.
So we make a program that only plays in one key, by adjusting non-scale notes to the nearest scale note. For example, in the key of B flat minor, we don't need a B natural note. So in the User Scale for that program, on B natural, you can adjust it so that only B flat plays on that white keyboard note. You now have two B flats in a row on the keyboard, the normal black B flat key, and the new white B flat key just above it.
So now that program only plays correct notes for the B flat minor scale.
But you don't want unison with the melody line, which is what that User Scale example above does when played layered with the main melody. So then really what you need is a User Scale where the scale notes are all a third higher than normal. Of course, sometimes this is a minor third higher, and other times this is a major third higher. You adjust each note individually 3 or 4 semitones up depending on the scale note you need it to be. Done. You now have a harmony timbre that sounds notes correctly a third higher and in key.
Then mute this new harmony timbre. Play your melody line. Now when you need the harmony to kick in, un-mute the harmony timbre. You can play the melody line the way you do naturally, with legato portamento phrasing, and the harmony timbre will stay in key and sound, in effect, like an intelligent auto harmony feature.

Have you tried changing the pad note triggers in Global P2 controllers tab.
I just set the first pad to a note (default is off) and was able to play a chord from my external controller. The pad midi channel should match the external controller channel. I don't know if the NanoKey works like a regular MIDI controller but it should.

Once again became convinced that Kronos - a great the instrument !!! It can work as a harmonizer! I understood this technology and made SEQ (exactly the same you can do Combi) on the dates of me a party.
To do so just need to create a for each voice the necessary program (if it's just a quart or quint - enough set up «PITCH» on a separate MIDI track). For tercio - creates a separate program with its SCALES in Global mode ( "User All Note Scale" - individually adjusts to any note in any octave) and in the program there is an item "TRANSPOSE" - there you can set +/- 3 for the third). Then this program is assigned to a separate track. And everything is working !!! You can do any of the intervals. I have to triads - involved 3 midi tracks.

Note that Chord Mode actually lets you set up 8 different chords, and then switch between the *chords* using the pads, with the keyboard note determining the root note of the chord. For instance, you could have pad 1 = unison (no chord), pad 2 = major triad, pad 3 = minor 7th, pad 4 = augmented triad, pad 5 = major 9th, etc.

Thanks Dan. The Chord Mode feature is more versatile than I first thought. There's quite a bit of useful info in the Operations Guide.
