Thanks Korg for this brilliant update. Bugs aside this is such a help and inspiration for making combinations, layers and splits.

I've been so energised and made more combinations today alone than in the last 3 years or so! And I have been busy with Christmas things as well so not even spent that long playing today.

A lovely early Christmas present thanks!

Happy holidays to all

Agreed! I didn't think this one change would facilitate this much creativity, but it does! Obviously, splits and layers could be done by programming a Combi, but the way the new update instantly includes the IFX routings, KARMA, and Drum Track settings makes this so powerful, playful, and immediate.

Regarding bugs, I'm pretty sure there will be an update in the coming days or weeks. For now, I'm enjoying the heck out of it.

The new layer split function is fantastic!
Last night i created 20 new combis with layer.
The speed of making combis compared to the old way is remarkable.
There is something fun about this.
It really speeds things up, and that really promotes more creativity.
The best update to date. :)

Wow are you guys saying that I can import a new program into an existing program or combi with all its effects etc. while maintaining the others effects etc. If so that's fantastic!!!

I havent i stalled the uodate yet, but it looks to be very prommissing..

I hope they expand on this feature in the future, making it possible to have both a layer as well as a split at the same time, having 2*2 programs active...

But for now, i cant what to start working with what we got..

Hi all,

New owner of a Kronos 2 88 and got it days before this update. Any advise as to how to deal with the update? I've just been exploring the sounds on the board getting a feel of things and wondering if there is a new manual I should be looking at and disreguarding other things? BTW I am new to Korg other than an old DW8000 and my last board was a Roland A90.
Anyway, this is a great keyboard and can see it will take a while to learn.

thanks
Eric

Congratulations and welcome to the Kronos club!

I've had my original Kronos serial number 17 since it was released and I don't think I've yet managed to explore every preset program and combination so you have lots of fun ahead! It's so deep and powerful and always a pleasure to play.

Given the joy of initial ownership you could defer upgrading to 3.1 until Korg resolve the minor bugs in relation to Karma...That said, the new layer split feature is so inspiring and easy to use that it will add to your experience.

It's up to you of course. Personally I would just explore the sounds and upgrade the OS when 3.1.1 is released which knowing Korg won't be too long.

Have fun! Merry Christmas

Steve,
Thanks for the reply. I think I will take your advise and wait for the bug fixing update. I'm having fun just exploring right now. Do they redo the manual with these updates or just add the changes to an addendum?

thanks
Eric
