fade out note with foot peddle depressed.

Hi there,
I've noticed that on some programs (especially the strings) the note sustains forever while the foot peddle is depressed and only stops once the foot peddle is released. How do I make the note fade out slowly and not continue forever even while the peddle is depressed?
Thanks for your help

What you're looking for is the sustain step of the AMP EG (Envelope generator)

Are you familiar with ADSR at all?

If you check out this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohtqAbQxRyQ, at 2:40 I start experimenting with the AMP EG which controls the initial attack, temporary decay state, the sustain level (when you hold the note) and release.

Note, I was using the AL-1 engine in this example, and while the HD-1 also does this not all engines in the Kronos allow you to manipulate these aspects of the sound (SGX2 is a good example)

Thanks so much!
Do you know of any good guides for someone new to the synthesizer side of things?
