Which program banks in your Kronos are mostly empty?

I've already started programming my "50 famous synth songs" but I ran into an issue which... I realized is going to give people issues.

Because the songs I'm doing are complete songs and not just single sounds, I realize that some people are going to have issues with where programs and combis are stored, as well as how people progress through songs. Some people might buy the pack just to get specific sounds which is just fine, but I realize that there are going to be dependency issues which is why I have a question I'm hoping most of you might throw a quick vote at to help me figure out the best place to put everything.

Feedback is appreciated!

USER AA is occupied by Korgs " New Sound Pack " ( its 2yrs ' new').
I have the original Kronos.

I think you might consider asking folks their Kronos version ( original, X, K2)

I understood that the Kronos and Kronos X are basically the same, but the K2 has the EXs 17 and 18 - I also have the original K as well as the K2 but I've installed the EXs on the K1 so they're identical.

I'm more worried about what's free, only because I'm not at all going to be referencing sounds already in the Kronos - Every sound I make will be original in some way, and won't depend on any libraries so I don't have to worry about combi's depending on sounds that aren't there.

makes sense.

Should be interesting to see if folks have banks available.

Its not a huge chore to clean up or archive user banks IMO

Not an easy question to answer. It depends on the PCG file. I have some files that are rammed (all banks in use).

I would not worry about it as you will not finda one size fits all spare bank. People can load your PCG to experiment (after saving theirs off) and then use tools like PCG Tools, the Korg Editor, etc. (even kronos.factory when I get time to write it  ) to get favourite combis/programs into existing files whilst preserving links.

You have to specify that this question poll concerns only users of older Kronos 1 & X since Kronos 2
by factory default uses U_AA & U_BB Program Banks that participate in preset factory Combinations ,
so the actual question for all Kronos users should be limited to U_CC up to U_GG , the only 5 free
program banks that all Kronos have ...

None mostly,
But user G as most third party libraries use that.
That way I can use that as a volatile location to preview all sorts of tones that I can copy to another fixed location.

One suggestion for enigmahack, to add check box for none. All my prg banks are full. I have only empty places in combi banks. Bank number extension will make me happy in some new OS.
Good idea to make this statistics!
Best wishes.

Yeah, I just know that some people aren't that technically inclined so if I can get an idea of what a mostly-safe default space would be, then it'll cause less headache for users.

That said, most people (it seems) who have their banks full already are more advanced users regardless and are probably comfortable enough as it is with moving things around :)

Thanks for the feedback!

No worries. I spent a week before Christmas getting a composing PCG together where most of my PCG libraries are now merged into one. It's great having them all in one PCG and going through them at random to find some inspiration. :)

This is close to my own situation, the exception being that User AA and User CC have also got some spare locations available.
All the other ones are full, but as GregC suggests, they can be cleaned up or archived etc.
There will be a time when I shall need to do that....sooner rather than later...
