hello,
Does anyone know if the effect parameters can be automated in sequencer mode?
Specifically, is it possible to automate the feedback control of the tape echo effect? Ideally I want the parameter to be assigned to a knob or other controller so I can record the result as part of a song?
I don't own a Kronos yet - just need to be clear on the possibilities for automation.
cheers
Tim

Yes, parameter automation can be recorded is SEQ.
If you assign effect parameter to knob, then it is recorded as simply as CC parameter.
But SEQ also records more sophisticated manipulations using SYSEX like any other tweakings in effect, effect routing changes etc - almost anything you do during the recording.

Hi Tim,
The whole effects system is so flexible that pretty much anything is possible. With regard to your specific question, it is easy to assign the feedback level to a knob, or else to the joystick, ribbon controller or slider. Additionally, you can control the level of feedback with aftertouch, note velocity, footswitches or a whole load of other ways. Finally, you can alter the level merely by adjusting the feedback level on the IFX page as the sequencer is rolling in record mode.
And, hey - there can only be one Tim with a LaserBun handle! Hope all is well with you. Give my regards to Leamington. Hope to see you next time I come to visit Bob.
All the best,
Pete.
