Kronos into Cubase as a VST

Hi,
Although I have the Oasys, this will apply equally to the Kronos.
I am trying to get the O to be recognised in Cubase (I have 8.5) as a VST Instrument so I can use the Render In Place function among other things.
I know this can be done (?) and I make this post to see if anyone has succeeded with your K.
Any luck?

Over on the Karma-Lab site, Stephen Kay tells me it is not possible without the Editor which is built in for the K but not for the O. So I have reached the end of the road.............................unless anyone has managed to bypass this !

it's possible if you use an external audio interface, in that case you can use the oasys like any other hardware synth and embed it as an external instrument. If you also create a Midi control template in cubase you can also assign up till 8 quick controls so that you have automation available.
If you want the full Korg editor functions then it won't work, but that won't work anyway, since it only supports 32 bits hosts and i doubt that much people on this world would still use 32 bits daws, so that's basically a useless solution.
But if you are happy with embedding it as an external instrument then you can use the methods i've described in the following thread:
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... c&start=15
What you can do with those methods is render audio from the oasys in realtime through file - render audio in cubase combined with the VSTs that you use (all fully latency compensated) and use the render in place function.

Unfortunately I dont think the function "render in place" in Cubase works with an external HW instrument even with an external audio interface.
I have tried with Kronos and nothing happens.
Only VST“s.
