Just tested it for an hour: it's one of the best synths which ever arrived on iOS!
And it even allows legacy patch import from the PC version.
I really wished we had that one on the Kronos.

Sadly, no Ipad 4 support...

Might get it for completeness, but would be even happier if it appeared as a Kronos engine

It might still run if you don't have too many apps going at the same time.
I too would have to upgrade to a newer iPad.

I just bought it too. Another great app from Korg. Got the expansion pack too for an extra $4.95.

Bit buggy,
1.Responds to midi cc/knobs but does not update the GUI.
2.The gadget version module does not show user presets from the main version.
hopefully Korg will fix these issues with an update.
Sounds fantastic though.

i am still wayitng on full gadget integration with the Kronos...
Connect the Ipad to the K's USB
Send midi to the ipad..
Being able to choose Gadgets as sound elements on the Kronos
Send Audio back to the Kronos over USB
A little integration would take the Kronos another mile...
There is so much good in Gadget when connected to the K

You can pretty much do this today. With a single USB cable you can connect your Kronos to an iPad/iPhone. MIDI goes out and audio back in. With the standard Apple connection kit you won't be able to charge the device while you're using it.
You can set up different Gadget synths on separate MIDI channels using Advanced MIDI in the settings for Gadget. Then use Combi mode and set up different Combis to control to the synths.
I have an iPad 2 Air and iPhone 6s. When doing this with my iPad I would get buzzing, the kind you get with sample rate issues. The Kronos is locked at 48KHz. Even with a hard restart and the Kronos connected at boot, I had this problem. With the iPhone 6s I did not have this issue. I did a little Internet research and found people were complaining that the 6s (and possibly other 7 and beyond) are locked in at 48Khz causing problems for people in certain circumstances. This issue is likely going to vary depending on your Apple device and possibly the OS version. It's not really a Korg issue.
The real limitation when trying to use Gadget synths is that they don't respond to MIDI Program Change, hence you need to manually change presets. This is certainly something Korg could add. Supposedly the iiM1 does respond to MIDI Program Change but I haven't tried to figure it out.

Korg, please fix the midi for standalone iOS version.
The knobs do not visually update from external midi cc.

This is a total bummer for me too. My iPad 4 cost a ton of money and it kicks serious butt.
But it can't handle this one nor the Moog 15.
Not a happy camper here.

it might be that this like the model 15 uses gpu processing (Metal) that is only available on 64 bit ios devices.

Ipad 4 is just to slow to handle high end apps these days..
How old is the ipad 4, it was introduced over 5 years ago
My current ipad pro, is just as fast as the intel i7
Its over 30 times as fast as the ipad 4
I dont understand people claiming that their 5 year old stuff cant compete with the latest greatest... its evolution... and the evolution of mobile devices in the last 5 years was huge...
