How do I access any one of the 9 engines as blank sounds?

I wanna just open up the polysix engine as a initiliazed sound or the EP engine and play a mark I sound without any effects ...

Do I always have to find a program with its respective engine then disable all the effects and what have you?

Can you do me a kindness and explain this to me ?

I just got the Korg Kronos 1 day ago and am very excited and thrilled with its amazing sounds !

Things to be aware of.

In a given Bank, all Programs have to use either the HD-1 engine, or be an EXi type. The EXi types are AL-1, CX-3, STR-1, MS-20EX, PolysixEX, MOD-7, SGX-2, or EP-1.

HD-1 and EXi types cannot be mixed in a bank. Converting a Bank from one type to the other will initialise the whole bank!!

The best starting point would be to find a Program called "Init EXi Program". One way to find one of those is to use the search function (looking glass icon, near top right of screen, no need to use capitals).

Press OK on one of the search results, and go to the Common tab at the bottom of the screen. The resulting screen will have EXi Instrument Type at top left. Choose the desired engine from the drop down menu. This should form the "blank" starting point that you wanted.
