Only a real snare drum requires 600W of accustic power to be naturally reproduced ... so go configure !
I see, So what speakers would you recommend to buy for the pa4x?
is it worth the 500 for the korg paas speaker? or get something else for that price?

It's not that PaS is expensive , but its a weak personal only monitor with harmonic subsonic resonance in low
frequencies as all those tiny keyboard embedded speakers that they can't even cover with 30W the shouts
of your gathered friends in your room !
Any Pro gear of a pair of 2-way self-powered loudspeakers ≥ 100 W rms , of ≥ 8" woofers , can provide you much
better sonic results and enjoy your arranger with your friends , even at a larger "home" party and have fun.
A moderate proposal for small room places as home studio is EV ZXA1-90B (real power is 200W rms not declared fake 500-800W)
or any similar small size and light as those !

i guess the real problem is that there is the same processing hardware inside the pa4x and pa3x.. and so they had to cut some things to make other things possible...

With the current pa4x hardware specs, i guess it can't get much better then it is..

From what I read before the PA 900 was the new chips for the PA 4..
I have a pa3x and then what a PA 900. And I was surprised how much faster it ran bigger screen and a faster machine that's what I liked. Now the keyboard bed was not as good as the PA 3x, and I'm sure that some of the samples were different but overall the PA 900 was great. I have now the pa4x and it works fine I bought and waiting for the PA 1000.
I think this is the predecessor to the PA 5x, it's like after a few years of the PA4, Korg figured out what most people use and left the rest out of the PA 1000. I shall find that when it PA 1000 arrives.

pa3x and pa4x keybeds are different? do you feel any difference? or compared with pa900... pa4x keybeds are lighter then pa3x?

Yeah - that's fascinating.....
I didn't think Korg used Fatar..... (but didn't know)

I disliked my PA1X-76 keybed - PA2X and PA3x were the better PA3X having better aftertouch but I noticed a significant difference on my PA4X
Aftertouch was very poor until PA3X but PA4X is perfect plus I found I needed to get used to the PA4X more this time.

I am guessing Fatar must have changed their design/manufacturing then - do you think?

Cheers

Yeah Pete, IIRC it changed (after PA1x) to the Fatar Tp8/s for PA2 and subsequent models

http://www.fatar.com/pages/TP_8S.htm

Fatar do minor tweaks to keybeds without necessarily altering the model number. Although I think a lot of the A/T issues with the PA3 were software related.

Kurzweil semi-weighteds use the Fatar TP8 which is the "economy" model haha! Well they used to hahaha, haven't checked in a while.

Thanks

haha, can't remember it was so long ago now :)

Oh I should say btw, this is Korg Italy. AFAIK Korg USA still produce their own.

EDIT: just thinking some more, it MAY have even been info from Paolo - we used to chat a bit back in the day hahaha!

I dislike pa4x, Keybeds are like a piano its to heavy, but much better then the pa3x's. I am coming from pa900... I cant use pa4x this is for professionals who use to play piano.

now.. I almost throw away my pa4x just because i connected to my pc speakers it sounded horrible Yack....

Since i am an armature and coming from pa900, i will be much happier with pa1000 its very clear now to me. And tomorrow i will post what korg replayed about the FX to the shole point why was this form post was made.

Well - sounds like you've written off the PA4X and that's good because it's most important that a keyboard works best for you.
Pity you can't try it through decent speakers - I think if I played any of my keyboards through PC speakers I'd sell them all

Good luck with the 1000 - hope it works out well for you.

PC speakers will not do justice for the audio from a PA4X, which is of outstanding quality. A good, high-end quality home hi-fi might be a better choice.
