Hello everyone,

I recently bought a custom case for my Kronos from a reputable (at least until now) seller.

Once received, I put the keyboard in it to check whether the dimensions were right.

Unfortunately, when I removed the Kronos, I noticed that some parts of the "Korg" logo were lightly scratched, due to some tiny aluminium remainings inside the case.

Now, I contacted the seller and see what will happen.

However, since I am not particularly positive about the outcome, has anyone repainted or fixed any scratches on the logo? If yes, could you please point me to a suitable repair marker that can be used?

I know that the functionality of the keyboard is not impacted, but when one makes sacrifices to finally buy his dream keyboard, it is a bit sad to assess that, even before starting to properly use it, it is already aesthetically compromised.

Some good quality images of the scratches might be helpful.

Most legends on metal surfaces tend to be screen printed and, from looking at it, the Kronos seems to be no exception. The inks used are usually either thermoplastic or thermoset, or two part epoxy, and it might be worth contacting a company that specialises in metal screen printing to get an expert opinion on what might be best. Alternatively, a car body repair shop might offer helpful advice or even to the job for you, especially the ones that do bespoke custom paint jobs with fine detailing. Colour matching will be important, too. The trick to add the finishing touches will be to blend in the material used to fill the scratches with the surrounding printed logo, without damaging the logo or surrounding metalwork in the process.

I would like to know a good recommendation for this too. There are so many scratches all over my keyboard. I have settled for sticking a large strip of gaffer tape across the back so it doesn't look so bad.

Of course, there is the option of painting or perhaps plasti-dipping the whole board. That could be a cool but messy project. Then, what to do for the logo after that? I wonder if the Korg police would arrest me for simply playing without one. Just a thought.

I took the logo off of my original Kronos, can't figure out how to do it on the new one though.

hard to say if they would harass you. I doubt they would knock on your door.

If you were playing the Super Bowl half time, and had a messed up Korg logo, good chance you would hear from them. These cos always have legal and are particular about how their name, even the font size is used.

Lol, the Korg police. I think it wouldn’t matter if it’s covered/scratched etc. I’ve seen on tv shows such as The tonight show, late show, (Fallon, kimmel) over the years they have covered logos and had exposed logos on their keyboards, specifically the Kronos. I ALWAYS look at what keyboards they use lol. Fallon has 2 or 3 Kronos 2’s now. Epic!

Does anyone know the specifications of the “KORG” logo on the Kronos 1?
I mean the exact dimensions in millimetres (height and width).

I used to tape over the logos on my keyboards because I didn't want to advertise for companies unless they were paying me too. I don't bother worrying about that now though. However I still have a hard time wearing clothes that have a HUGE logo on them.
That's just me though.
I used to use little bits of black electrical tape to modify the "R" on my Roland keyboard so that instead it said Poland!
