I am not as technically inclined as some , thus my suggestion to google the forum for facts.
adding a 2nd SSD is not very difficult. Even I managed that.
A MoBo replacement does not appear as fool proof from what I recall.
regarding Kronos performance limits, I think the main obstacle is 16 bit addressable memory. I don't believe anyone can change that OS programming.
You can try a MoBo replacement as an experiment. A few have DIY'd it, but I don't recall a tangible improvement in boot time or performance. Again, google for that experience.
