Can someone tell me a good over-the-head microphone for using the vocoder? We use IEM's so I don't need a headset microphone combination, just the over-the-head mic. Would this work? https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... lsrc=aw.ds

On its own, this Line 6 HS30 microphone headset will not work when plugged directly into the Kronos audio ins. This is because the microphone is a condenser type, requiring a bias supply voltage of 5V DC, which the Kronos doesn't provide. It is intended to be connected to one of the Line 6 XD-V30 / V35 belt pack transmitters which, in combination with the receiver (which has a mic level received audio output) would work with the Kronos. An alternative would be to make a bias injection box that supplied 5V DC to the ring electrode on the microphone, and then passed the mic audio to the Kronos.

Thanks for the reply Voip. Is there any headset mic that you know of that will work where I don't need some type of preamp? A headset mic I can just plug into the Kronos? I don't need high quality, it's for the vocoder. Thanks.

This seems to be one of the only options:

Or ask/search for dynamic headband microphone.

The Shure WH20QTR should also work, but make sure it has QTR in the product code, not XLR nor TQG, as these have different connectors.

Hi everybody in my most beloved forum and a HAPPY and healthy NEW YEAR!

I am also looking for a microphone to use the vocoder.
Does the jack cable have to be symmetrical?
I only have my 70s/80s AKG D330BT-microphone at the moment and don't want to spend too much money onlyto test ist.

Thanks a lot and best regards
Frank

The Kronos audio inputs are balanced, and will work with either single-ended or balanced sources. An XLR to stereo (TRS) 1/4" jack adapter between the AKG D330BT and the Kronos should be all that is necessary.
