Can I have a breath controller plugged to the Oasys? That's
not a question of life and death to me, but I would jump in if
it'd cost less than 100 bucks.
Richard
I just saw your question today....
I bougth a Yamaha BC3 breath controller and the "MIDI solutions" breath controller connector some time ago for my Korg Z1 and they work pretty well in the Oasys also.....but both together cost more than 100 bucks .....
I've also made some trilas with a MIC connected to the OASYS and using the Vocoder effect to control the sound in the way that breathing over the mic produce the control of a parameter (i.e. Volume) so you can play the keyboard but notes only sound once you blow over the mic and volume will depend on the force used in your breath.....More breath, more signal in the MIC and then more effect applied to your sound.....it works in a decent way even with a cheap MIC as the ones used for computers....
....as this is a wishlist, maybe we can ask KORG for a specifically designed MIC for this purpose....

Sampler
After recording one single sound/several sounds, for use in a user-made multisample...

...to select for :
#1. Standard Auto-Pitch Transposition (as always)
(when the sound is pitched up the keyboard, the time/duration of the sample's playback is decreased, and when pitched down the keyboard, the time/duration of the sample's playback is increased)
...just like every other sampling keyboard ever made...
also have the option (when creating a user-made multisample), to select for :
#2. Auto-Pitch transposition without affecting time/duration
(when the sound is pitched up the keyboard, the tone/key is identical to standard transposition,
however, the time/duration of the sample's playback, IN ANY KEY, would be identical to the original recorded sample, and when pitched down the keyboard, the pitch, again, would be in perfect harmony with it's standard transposed counterpart, but the duration of each descending note would not change, and remain identical to the time/duration of the original recorded sample)
...much like a few innovative, horrible sounding rackmount samplers...
...the key for the Oasys in doing this, would be it's ability to have it sound great, as everyone acknowledges the great multiple sound engines it has.
BTW, reducing polyphony in the second type of transposition, even by a large margin, would be very acceptable.

...
...as long as it sounded great !!
Sequencer
#1. Increased resolution ( 480 PPQ @ least)
#2. More MIDI tracks
Icing
#1. Bigger hard Drive ( the bigger, the better

)
(the 1 TB (terabyte) (you heard right!) Toshiba would be nice

)
#2. Ethernet
#3. Even more great sounds
Were korg to implement those features/components

(besides the 1 TB Toshiba

), i'd buy an 88 key Oasys ASAP.

Yo Korg !!!

... ... .......
BTW, thanks for the sticky Daz !!

Resynthesis/Remodelling, plus improved sequencer

In terms of my 'blue-sky' wish list, if the OASYS has the grunt, it would be amazing to offer an Exi or perhaps HD-2 offering manipulation of samples. At the 'low end', doing V-Synth like 'straighforward' repitching of samples to play them without time/length distortion would be great. Could be a non-realtime utility feature for simple key range mapping. Repitching a triggered sample dynamically would be very nice too. At the 'high end', full remodelling of the harmonic content and recombination would be awesome, even if again the processing has to be rendered back to a straightforward sample before it can be played (i.e. non realtime).
In terms of other workstation features, my #1 wish would have to be an improved sequencer. I'd like to be editing on the OASYS, but a simple event editor is not enough for me. I'd like a matrix editor to better visualise the note events, preferably with a pane to simulateously graph/edit CCs.

- multi velocity switching drum samples
- more physical modelling instruments (e.g. wind, percussion, etc.)
- Korg Wavedrum !
- FM
- and now the ultimate wish

, a possibility to integrate something like SSLs Duende or Focusrites LM

[quote="Daz"]Please post your Oasys wish list items in this thread. In order to keep the thread focussed please stay on topic and/or use other threads for discussion relating to wish list items.
Just bought the Oasys.
It's missing more assignable pedal connections and MIDI ports.
I'll have to do the same work as I did with the Triton.
It has tons of features that I will never use in a lifespan, but they have to be there beacause there's somebody out there who finds them useful.
Well, when I play live (and I mean live, no seq or arpeggiator, karma, etc etc) I use to split the keyboard and I need to have separate volume control footpedals for at least two zones.
Why such a terrific sounding keyboard, state of the art technology is so poor in this field?
Wishlist:
- more virtual instruments (virtual classic analogs) or compatibility with stand alone software of thirdy parts
- it's been already said but a 2 years hardware (motehrboard and cpu) upgrade would really be OPEN ARCHITECTURE

My number one wish:
Better and more intuitive file handling.
I'd like a move function.
I'd like to be able to save into a folder by simply selecting it and without having to open it first.
I'd like to be able to save a single program with associated samples, not save an entire bank after deselecting a whole bunch of stuff I don't need.
Let's get rid of all these "modes", people who are not Korg culture people have no idea what all this stuff means - KSC's PCG's etc.
I'd love to be able to tweak a program while in combi mode, as of now, this can't be done, one has to exit combi, go into program mode (there are those modes again) tweak, resave (by deselecting stuff and selecting a whole bank if said program includes new samples), go back to combi, reload the new program...........it's all such a productivity killer.
In short, why can't a machine with a clean Linux OS behave more like a computer and less like a keyboard from circa 1987? Even the dos-based OS in my eleven year-old K2500 is more complete and intuitive than this in the ultra-modern Oasys.

I'd definately like to see some proper Drum Synthesis happening here like the Elektron Machinedrum, but i'd like to see a single programme handling all the different drum elements; i'd definately sell some of my other kit if this was the case. I produce Detroit style techno / deep house & Oasys has been a dream come true for me, but drum samples still don't cut it when i comes to proper electronic music.
I would like to program

I would like to program oasys system.
I also get free effect or instruments or more MIDI track sequencer.
OASYS means open architecture....right?

This is a great idea. A Korg ER-1 as an Oasys synth would be awesome!

For the cx3 module:
- keyboard tracking for the EX drawbars to re-create a real overtone effect (which on the real thing is more noticeable in the higher tone range)
I do not mean the overtone general effect, which is another thing. Real hammonds, with drawbars almost all out, add some extra frequencies which I find to be 2', 1', 1' + 24, but not with the same level on the keyboard range. These "effect" is heavier on higher notes and goes decreasing in the low range
- more possible percussion footage. In the spinet models possible
percussions source are a combination of 7 (T models) starting from 8 feet.
- an on/off switch for the drawbar foldback
- the percussion "second voice" tab, which allows the percussion to be sustained as a normal drawbar note (so the percussion decay will be: fast, slow, sustained, for all possible percussion source -ex included-)
- a brilliance effect/tab. I know, this one can be emulated by increasing, when "on", one or two tags of the last 4 drawbars
and of course if it was possible to adjust the distance of each one of the 96 pick ups from its wheel.................

I only want 4 things. Anything else for me is just surprise icing on the cake. FM synthesis, like on the SY99, (RCM) but with a totally cleaned up & logical interface via the touch screen. Pitch correction EXf. Timecode capabilities added to sequencer. Get rid of the ISO CD format that prevents us from having long file names on the HD (I still don't understand why this was done this way, who needs it?)

Sleep mode. The way it works on Macs. This would eliminate the need to reboot from scratch, saving both time and energy use. Also, for those who alternate between recording live tracks and O tracks (but recording from within the vicinity of the O) the O would not need to be turned off to eliminate fan noise from being recorded.

yeah, I'd like that too. Sometimes, I know I will be away from it for an hour or so and I dont turn it off because of the boot up time (I load everything). I like to be able to go to it immediately if I want to, and as its my main keyboard now, I need it for every other device in my rig.

Route the output from a midi-track into karma. This is the second time i've tried that, spending hours reading the manual and thinking "havent i done this before..", just to find out it cannot be done

but maybe it is in 1.2, yes?
