Thank you so much for the English translation (which was excellent BTW), otherwise I'd have missed a very interesting and illuminating interview. The review made for great reading as a fellow musician, but also there were a few "philosophical gems" in there too. Thanks Charlie and Peter !

Hi Daz,

thanks a lot! Especially for the kind words concerning the translation as Charlie and I recently were discussing about the quality  ...

Great that you liked it, I was quite sure about the "philosophical gems".. as I remember very well your statement to Andreas Ecker's interview.

:D

Well - now that we have such a nice feedback by a "certified native speaker", there's no need for following up on our discussion regarding translation-quality, Peter!

Thanx for your kind words, Daz. Music leaves plenty of space for philosophie.

Hi all,

after a short break here another interview of a KF member:

http://blog.petermmahr.com/2008/12/06/i ... batwombat/

Thank you, Samu !

peter

ps: I really was laughing a lot when I read about the waching machine sound. Reminds me on the time when I sampled a vaccum cleaner, pitched it down, changed a bit the envelope and got the sound of an aeroplane.

Charlie,

thank YOU for being such a loyal visitor of the blog. .. and not only concerning the blog

It would be fine if KORG collects some sounds of that quality and makes them available as a kind of "OASYS user programmed sound bank" @ korguser.net. And this sound is definetely a must have in this bank. .. just an idea.

Totally agree, I enjoyed the interview and was also impressed by the Deep Bell Drone sound. Have to study the article of the Karma Wiki again

Thank you Peter for having me, it means a lot to me! 8)

Thanks Charlie and Arend!

The Karma-Wiki describes the routing inside a single program, the DeepBellDrone is done with a combi. Here's the initial post I wrote about the subject. It isn't about the DeepBellDrone but is the one that started it all. :)
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=33746
You could use the MS-20 S&H Example Combi with STR-1 instead of MS-20EX for a start.
And now that I think of it, the DeepBellDrone could probably be done in a single program version too. 8)

I try to arrange the time to write a tutorial for the DeepBellDrone in the future. It's a complex subject but the basics are in the Karma-Wiki and the above thread.

Samu,
Just a great interview. As for your OASYS wishes, I couldn't agree more. Right on! Super demos too. The OASYS ones certainly do illustrate the sonic power we have. Thanks again.

Thank you also, Peter for keeping this alive.
Cheers,
Eric

Totally agree - thanks (once again) Peter for an excellent interview - sirCombatWombat - you're a very intriguing and inspiring musican and composer.

Cheers,
Kevin

PS - Actually have been looking over all the other interviews you've done and they make fascinating reading. I hadn't read Sharp's before (sorry Sharp!) but he provides a very interesting description of how Korgforums came about. Daz and Sharp - how about making this thread a sticky thread?

Peter, I've discovered the "extra-banks" in your Blogasys sound-collection for this forum (as I don't audit the sounds out of the program-folder I overlooked an entire bank ). There are EXCELLENT sounds in it! And I finally found "my" - that is "your" - solo sound. 8) And I like this irandom sounds.

Charlie - could you expand on this and provide the link to the programs you mention?

Thanks,
Kevin.

I very much enjoyed reading your thoughts and a little about you and your music making :-) Thanks Wombat and Peter !

Thanks too for mentioning the need for program editing in multimode. I am somewhat surprised we didn't see that already. Not finding this available in the Oasys is like buying a professional DSLR, like a Nikon D3x, and finding it can only shoot in Auto Mode ;-) Fail.
