Editor: "KP3 is not found"

I cannot connect the KP3 Editor with the Kaoss Pad any more. KP says "busy" and KP3 Editor says "KP3 is not found" when I click on "receive".
KP3 is greyed out in the Audio Midi configuration.
But I see the SD card in the finder.

Is this an issue with Mac OS 10.4.10?

I (re-)installed the latest midi driver. Kaoss Pad System is 1.0.3

By the way: why doesn't Korg tell us the release date of drivers? How do I know if I have the latest driver? Am I supposed to know the version number of the midi driver running on my system? :?

This is just a guess... but you mentioned that you see the SD card in the finder. I believe that only happens when you engage USB mode from the KP3. The editor will not work if you are in USB mode.

I didn't know that! But the kp3 doesn't connect to the editor when not in USB mode, too.

the problem is still unsolved. :(
"kp3 not found" message when I set the editor to "receive all".
sysex is enabled, usb mode off.

This sucks.

Similar problem with the microKOntrol librarian, "midi timeout".
Maybe I changed the port on the usb hub and that makes the usb driver loose connection? But I'm on Mac Os X here, usb ports should be nonrelevant. I also tried not to use a hub but direct connection.

Hey gang, found out another "gotcha" on this...

Make sure you do not have any other midi enabled apps running. I tried to run the editor while I had Ableton Live running and I got error msgs. As soon as I exited all music programs and relaunched the editor, it saw the KP3 again with no problem.

Have you tried this to solve your problem.

(copied from another thread)

On the editor set Midi preferences to auto detect.

Also,

press shift+4
select "sys.e"
push the selector knob
make sure it's set to "ena" - as in "enabled"
most important - write the data

then try sending your data again. cheers...

// edit: LOL, the funniest thing is that you can actually set the midi filter to block sysex messages from the editor... meaning, you transfer the setting, and all of a sudden it doesn't work anymore... LOL korg people, I absolutely love your products, but I'd say that's a minor f*kup

Just passing along the favour - I was in the same boat as you and was going totally insane. A fellow effects bender from this site gave me the solution and life is good.

Hi,
Same problem here. I'll try the previously mentioned solution tonight.
No way to have the editor working... Application or no applications running in the background, "KP3 not found", transmission failed...

But on top of this:
(I'm using OSX10.6.2) Does your korg midi driver stop working when you change anything on the pad?
Symptoms: change from Ext.ctrl to a program on the pad, then back to ext. ctrl=> no midi out from the pad. Only thing to do is reset midi drivers in logic, or rescan midi in the audiomidi setup if using mainstage.

Plus: really weird problem when saving midi parameters... Change the CC number assignment of a button, push write when it's blinking... Then come back to ext.ctrl... Nothing has been changed or saved.

Plus: anyone got the relation of midi assignment in "global mode" versus the one in ext.ctrl? WHo's dominating who?
I initially though that the global CC would be sent when playing the effects, but it doesn't at least on my pad. So what's the use of the global CCs?

Thank in advance for any opinion, or help.
Have a nice day.

that fixed my problem, (windows 7) i have 2.0.0 which probably wasnt available back then hope this helps whoever needs it now.
