Hi Everyone,

Today hopefully I take delivery of my new Oasys 76, I got it from Turnkey since most retailers seem to be out of stock until Jan 15. 2008!

Anyhow, I wanted to draw your attention to Ebay Item number: 110200924900

It smells like another scam to me. Zero feedback and the user id is questionable - looks very similar to the random type used by other Oasys scams of recent months.

Anyone wanna take a look, confirm if it is legit?

Dave.

I’ve used eBay to track actual selling prices and trends using their advanced search; selecting completed listings only. The search may take a few weeks or months but you’ll see them come and go.

Here’s my Oasis 88 experience. I noticed after 2 attempted listings a legitimate seller had not sold his O88. Both times the buyers were not able to come up with the funding. I asked if he would accept $5000 instantly by Paypal using Escrow.com. The seller agreed and we selected a 7 day trial. As the buyer, I paid for the shipping and escrow fees. My payment was sent to Escrow.com and held pending arrival and my approval. The O88 arrived in perfect condition, safely packed in the original Korg Factory box, with all the manuals and CDs.

After my approval the seller instantly received his payment. I paid a total of $5300 for a practically new O88 in pristine condition. Within 4 months I had a problem with the circuit board and it was replaced for $300 at a Korg Warranty center. I paid the repair costs as I’ve done with other secondhand equipment.

So I’ve been able to enjoy the full O88 experience, updating to the latest OS. Here are a few points to remember about the quality of the O. The Oasys is manufactured in Japan and is built solid with excellent fit and finish. Even with an occasional repair it will last a lifetime. You will recover a large part of the cost by slowly selling off your remaining keyboards from non use. After spending time to learn the O, you’ll discover nothing sounds the same.

Oh, look surprise surprise. Another one! :x

Item number: 220181538370

Very curious to note the similarity of the pictures from

Item number: 110200924900

The picture of the Oasys manual resting on the keyboard is a perfect match, apart from having been resized.

There's nearly one every week on Ebay.

Shocking!

It is not quite that bad.

If you were to sell an OASYS for $6,500, the total eBay Seller Fees would be $121.70 or 1.875%. Offering PayPal would add another approx. 2.9%. The grand total would be 4.78% or $310.50.

Using eBay and PayPal does cost some money, but the potential set of buyers is so much larger.
