General Questions!

Post by Ultimate Dj »

Hello,
I thought it a good idea to start a Topic that is for General Questions. Like small question that don't need a whole new topic every time! :D
Maybe Sharp, Daz or Chordial could make it sticky?

But my first questions;
What is the Master Track for?

Thnx

There's some info in the Parameter Guide which might be helpful. Try opening the Parameter Guide PDF file, and searching for "master track."

Yes the manual. My girlfriend refers to it as the keyboard bible stating " holy crap that manual has more information than the bible. " I tried to explain to her that this keyboard represents musical instruments on biblical proportions. She just smirked but does admit she loves the sounds that come out it. :P
And there was this one time at band camp......

Not many answers so far ...

The master track contains the tempo and time signature data. So eg. if you wanna change the tempo of a song you can record that there. To be honest: if you don't work with tempo or time signature changes within a song you will hardly ever use the master track.

Alright! Thanx!
That helps Charlie! I wont worry about !

Next question  ....

You know when your recording and you mute a track or solo a track?

How do you undo this? when you can't Compare?

Thanx

:-) Anyone know what the on / off switch is on the back of the keyboard for ?. The one where you plug in the OASYS.

Ultimate Dj, you could get beaten up for asking questions like this in the OASYS section :-)

lol :-) Insane. !!!!. Sorry mate, but threads like this crack me up.
Hey.....Have a look at this, it holds many answers from all the advanced members of the forum.

http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=24778

After that... RTFM. With respect that is :-) I'm only having a laugh.

I'm happy to help as always, but seriously, a thread like this is not likely to take off as OASYS users would generally be more interested in heavy stuff like.... What's the mathematical formula for calculating loop points based on Khz X Time.

Hope I haven't overstepped the mark. I'm just being honest, while also trying to throw a little humour around here.

Kind Regards.

If you're recording to a specific MIDI track and record Mute events for other tracks into it, you're not going to have much fun attempting to undo that. The mute events will be recorded as sysex data and you will not be able identify them individually in the MIDI Event Editor, 'cos it just shows all sysex events without any hint as to what they mean. You'll just have to try to identify the events by their time position and then delete in the Event Editor or something. Changing this is in the wish list, it rather negates the very useful capability of the Oasys to record automation data. To be honest your best bet is to kill all the automation events in the tracks and then re-record them.

*If* you have enough free IFX slots for the new program's IFX to occupy, and if you don't bring in the MFX and TFX of the new program, yes, absolutely.

Sharp. I did get someone call me on the tech support line in the UK and ask this about a PA50...!!

In 5 and a half years of support at Korg I have always joked about this but not once did I ever think that I would be asked it...!!

*acts extremely offended*
Ultimate Dj ....No need to be offended at all.
I do feel I made my intentions very clear. I'm also the last person here that could ever be accused of not being helpful, or dishonest, disrespectful or anything like that. Not that you said those things, I'm just making a point.

I think we just need to break you in and teach you the ways of life on an internet forum.

:-) For example, can't believe you didn't know what RTFM means. Right about now I'm hoping you see the funny side to that one since the link above explains what it means :-)

lol....there's another one for ya.

Hey, it's all good. If the thread runs, then by all means knock yourself out and post away. There are countless others buried in the forum of the same nature that haven't. But this one seems to be doing well.

I may just have to eat my own words yet :-)

Cheers.
Sharp.
