Registration (s) ?

I purchased my O88 last week and registered it on line (2 days ago) at korg.com/register as shown on the registration card that came with the unit.

Yesterday, I found korguser.net after looking quite awhile for the place to get the latest stuff. It had a registration requirement that looked very much like what I had already done on the other site.

I tried the login thinking it was a duplicate of the korg.com/register site and was presented with a message that said "ID or Password not found" or something to that effect.

Does anyone here know if you have to register in both places or if the registration info from korg.com/register is just slow to migrate for some reason? :?:

Hi Ken,
The two sites are not connected so you have to register again on the korguser site to access the updates. Hope that helps?

Did you also do a transfer of ownership? If I'm not mistaken this needs to be done as well or else you're going to run into some issues at Korgusernet.com. I think Korg does the transfer of ownership if I remember correctly.

Hi Ken,
If you bought your Oasys new as I think you did by your explanation there is no need for a transfer of ownership. This is only required if the Oasys is second hand and has been registered before in the name of the first owner.
You register at korg.com for warranty purposes and again at korguser.net for updates etc.

Yes, if you purchased a used OASYS contact your Korg Country Distributor regarding Ownership Transfer. There is information Korg needs about both the Seller and Buyer which they then use to modify/update information in the KorgUser.net database.

You want that information correct since:
-- it contains a history of all purchases
-- I believe it is the source Korg uses to generate their OASYS-related mass emailings.

Thanks every one.

I'm all set now. I can wait along with everyone else in the USA for the EXs3 disks.

It's a great instrument. I learn something new everyday about it.

Love it.

Ken,

You might want to contact Korg USA to make sure you are on the EXs3 CD mailing list. They outsourced the mailing and they may have created their distribution list prior to your registration.

Martin,

Thanks for the tip.

I have an email into Korg asking about whether I'm on the list and when they might ship, but no response yet. I read another message on this board the other day where a Korg employee was looking into why the release hasn't been made yet.

I'm not really in a rush yet, I'm still listening to new sounds on the O every day. I like to see which ones talk to me and my fingers!
