OASYS SOUND QUALITY - SEQ, PROGRAM and EXB-DI

Hi all!!,
My Oasys in GLOBAL mode at 96k SPDIF sounds the best. Further than that, in general the Oasys sounds better in PROGRAM mode than in SEQ mode. Do you feel the same?.
I am thinking of purchasing the EXB-DI but since it works at 48k I am afraid it may loss some audio quality. Any experience?
Thanks!!
Rob
Oasys audio quality test

hi there,
After critical listening I am completely convinced that the Oasys losses a bit of sound quality when in SEQ mode.
I did the following test:
1.- Oasys analog outs: The loss of audio quality is the most apparent in SEQ mode than in PROG mode.
2.- Oasys SPDIF out (96k) to DIGI 192 SPDIF in (PT session at 96k): In this case the audio quality loss is not as apparent but it still exists. The audio loss in SEQ mode for MOD7 sounds are quite noticeable, HD1 is less noticeable. (I guess coz they are already samples).
CONCLUSION:
1.- I track on PTHD from the Oasys SPDIF out (96k) to get the best sound out of the Oasys.
2.- Oasys Sequencer not only is too basic to be useful, but it decreases the audio quality of this awesome machine!.
Cheers
Rob
BTW: For those on PTHD, Digi 192 interface sounds better when synched as slave to the Oasys master clock via SPDIF (96k).

Does anyone agree with his statements. I noticed the same thing on my XP-80. It seems like the keyboard makers would have fixed or eliminated this type of thing by now. I know that Roland is a different keyboard manufacturer but I'm speaking in general.

I'm not sure what you're listening to. However, I can assure you with complete certaintly that there is no difference in sound quality between modes, provided that all parameters remain the same (such as effects, volume, KARMA, etc. - note that you will have to copy effects and KARMA into the Sequencer). A change in audio quality would require that the algorithms change, which they do not.
I'll respond about 96kHz later - but suffice it to say that I never use this setting on the OASYS.
Best regards,
Dan
