Problem Updating to v1.3.1

Hi,
My Oasys has v1.1.1 operating system and I would like to update to 1.3.1. When I burn the image on the CD then boot the Oasys from it, the boot process seems to work but after I press the Enter key to confirm the update I get a message that says "Update failed: This update is not compatible wih your installed version." Does anyone have an idea of why this is not working?
Thanks,
Howard

Are you absolutely sure it's 1.1.1 and not 1.1.0 ? Double check this.. and if it is 1.1.1, you may have to go to 1.3.0 first and then move forward. I have read different stories. Give it a try.

The OASYS v1.3.1 Update Guide.pdf does state that "version 1.1" is a pre-requisite.
Did you follow the "TroubleShooting" suggestions?
-- make sure no USB devices are connected
-- re-burn the CD
If these don't work, contact Korg USA Product Support (call them on the phone):

Hi. Thanks for looking into ths for me. Yes, I have 1.1.1. This is a new unit and when it boots up this is what appears on he screen. Actually, the update guide says it only needs 1.1 or higher, which is what is so strange. I have looked around for an intermediate operating system but there does not seem to any around. Korguser only has 1.3.1 now and there are no other sources. I sent an email to tech support and hopefully there will be someone in on Monday who can answer the question. Have a happy New Year!

We found an error in the software that runs on the updater CD that could prevent it from running on earlier versions of the OASYS system software. We're working on a revised CD image now. The fastest way for you to get up and running would be to contact someone at korg support and request the intermediate updater CDs (1.2.3 and 1.3.0). Sorry for the trouble.

Mike and Brandon,
Thanks for following up. No I haven't resolved the issue, unfortunately. I contacted Korg support and they asked for my address so they could send me their proven good image of 1.3.1. This was after I told them I didn't think the disk burning was the problem since I had downloaded it a couple of times, used two different image burning programs, and went through 5-6 CD's with exactly the same result. I'm afraid if they send me the 1.3.1 image they have it will do the same thing as my own attempts and your message confirms that suspicion. I would like to get the file for one of the intermediate operating systems but can't find it anywhere to download. So perhaps I will call support and see if they can send me the intermediate ones instead. It would be nice if you could just download the other operating systems from Korguser.
Thanks,
Howard

Hi All,
I called Korg support and in addition to the known good image of v1.3.1, they sent me v1.3.0 also. The disks arrived this evening and I was able to update v1.1.1 to v1.3.0 and then to v1.3.1. The process was very painless. Problem solved; happy camper! If anyone else has the issue of 1.1.1 to 1.3.1, this is the way to go.
BTW, I want to express how great and professional I find this forum to be. People helping each other out, quick monitoring and constructive input by Korg developers, a good attitude all around. It's a much better atmosphere than a certain DAW forum I'm on where it's rare for the company to have input other than to lock threads and where many of the users are disgruntled for unresolved issues and lack of support. Maybe it's the relative rarity of the Oasys and the tight-knit community, I don't know. Anyway, it's a pleasure to be part of this group and I look forward to more interaction in the future.
Regards,
Howard

Great news, I'm glad they could get you running sooner rather than later!

I have the same problem now, version 1.1.0 (Korg Manual say its ok to update ) to 1.3.1. I get the same screen. Tried using Global Menu and get an error message too.
The problem is I don't know where to get a previous update version. KorgUser.Net only shows the 1.3.1 to download.
I'll have to contact Korg Brasil or KorgUser.Net will make us a favor and left the older versions in their site ???
Best Regards,
Morphz

Hi Morphine,
I had to call Korg Support in the US to send out the disks for the old operating systems. For some reason they don't like to post them; I don't know why. You will need the disk for 1.3.0 and then for 1.3.1. They sent me both but I guess you can download 1.3.1 from the web site.
