I happen to like the sequencer and think nothing is wrong with it.

i didnt see anything diferent from the m3 or triton
And that's the problem
It's not a lot different from from what we where using a decade ago.
The Trinity came out in 96/97 and the OASYS sequencer is almost identical.
Still... I would use the on-board sequencer over software any day. Just wish KORG would update it.
Anyway.... it's all been said a million times before, and the last thing we need here is another Sequencer thread.
Regards.

Agreed 100%. That being said since your already familiar with the Triton or M3, that makes one less thing to learn on the Oasys and believe me there is plenty to learn. I wouldn't worry about any sequencer issues at all since it does work. if you want more info or opinions do a search and I'm sure you'll find plenty of opinions on the sequencer.

I would of been happy if Korg used the sequencer out of the ASR keyboard range. I loved the pattern arrange mode. I programmed so fast on that thing. I had 2 number one albums and 5 top 10 singles on that thing and since I have moved over to Logic and now Pro-tools my sequencing has never been the same.
I used to love watching the tempo when you locked the ASR into another sequencer the tempo kept changing all the time and I had to push samples a bit forward to allow the ASR to play more samples at once.
Now I sit back and hear my old work on the ASR and can hear my sequencers moving all over the place. You have to laugh when you here them but god they sounded great.
Maybe Jerry can show Korg the true power of the dark side of the force!!!!
But I am sure most of the guys from Korg where using the ASR to0 at the same time as I was.

I think "no one" is an exaggeration considering a poll was done here and the vast majority were happy. People who have used software-based DAWs on their PC's are used to the way they work, so when the OASYS works differently they have trouble adapting and choose to whine as their resistance to change. The truth is, no-one is forcing you to use the on-board sequencer - you can always hook the OASYS up to a software DAW if that works better for you. The majority of people bought the OASYS because of the fun stuff - the sound quality, extensibility, KARMA, etc. Lets face it, for performing artists sequencing is like doing your taxes.
I have done only one serious recording so far, and I found the onboard sequencer fairly intuitive. The worst bit was attempting to write to CD, I had to turn to the manuals for that and I spent about five times longer reading than it took to sequence 4 tracks and eventually do the sampling and burn. I understand the need to downsample to 44.1khz for the CD but the two-step process (jumping out of the sequencer into the sampler) was a bit ... unintuitive. But the manuals were pretty good and even a n00b like me got it to work first go.
Mum was thrilled with her Christmas present
(not bad for a single take!)

I wasn't going to get involved in this thread, but the above is nonsense, you have chosen to take a very selective view of the many sequencer posts. Also, as a person who has all kinds of hardware & software sequencers, and adapted to them, the Oasys sequencer is extremely basic and outdated and has no place on a flagship product. It has all been said before.
If you are a performing musician who has little or no use for the sequencer, good for you, but we all have differeing needs for the hardware and software that we buy and expect them to perform as advertised.
Happy New Year

How is the sequencer on the O, compared to the one on my Yamaha Tyros2? The Tyros2's sequencer has it's limitations, but I've found several workarounds, and it isn't a bad sequencer, despite being only 120 PPQN. It's the same sequencer found on some other Yamaha keyboards, such as the PSR3000, PSR1500, and the original Tyros.

Hey Badmann, the sequencer is just fine for what it does; as you have noted. I really don't notice any limitations in my use of it. FWIW
