my extreme is done...

Post by kabuchi »

Hi all
Happy new year to all u tritoneers...

u all might recall my post about "no output" from my extreme ...

well, after exchanging the mother board of one of my fellow musicians extreme, the mother board is at fault. Actually the output board but that's a part of the mother board.

So, i will be using it as a controller, in the mean time i'm using a friend's triton studio 61.

Can u guys tell me what free softsynth i can use with a "keyboard without sounds" ? nothing fancy, just basic with sounds to pull from

thanx
cheers

For decent wavetable-synthesis, get SFZ(http://www.project5.com/products/instru ... efault.asp), it is multitimbral and there are lot of free Soundfonts around (like http://www.hammersound.net/hs_sounds.html). Installer tells it is VST version but there is standalone executable included as well in the archive.

For other synthesis, a versatile thing worth recommendation is free Hybrid synth - ZynAddSubFX: http://personales.ya.com/mahtazz/ZynAdd ... _Beta5.exe (check "Native Windows Port Executables" during installation to get standalone working application).

You could also download the Legacy Collection from Korg... the trial version is free - download it from the Triton Extreme's Downloads page

That Sucks! Why won't Korg authorize service centers wherever their keyboards are sold?

Because they don't give a damn. They will sell their boards anyway. If you have years of selling and not having service center, people will get used to that and deal with it.

In my country, A/V technicians repair our keyboards. You can imagine what we are going through when our boards got broken and we take it to some "I-know-how-to-disassemble-TV-and-VCR" guy and then he experiment on our workstations. That's so beautiful you can't imagine.

kabuchi, I am so sorry for your loss, isn't there any chance you get extra money, order this motherboard via internet or something?

hey kabuchi ... I'm really sorry for your loss .. it really sucks. But there's a bright side. Once you get passed the shock , the denial, the bargaining, and the anger..... You get to a place of acceptance.

It's kind of like losing a girlfriend. My Grandmother used to tell me don't worry about it .... girlfriends are like a bus ... If you wait there long enough another one will come right by.

I don't know what its like in your part of the world but here in America if you have a pulse and a job, music stores will bend over backwards to extend credit so you can purchase an instrument. Go out there and embrace a few new and used instruments.
Smell em , hug em, turn all their knobs and slide the faders. Rejoice in choice and get yourself a new baby :P ROCK ON MY BRUTHA !!
A little ripple in a puddle, soon to be a TsonicTsunami !!! Catch the WAV

You might look at:

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SD20d/

Pretty cheap for a rompler rack. Not exactly a TR EX, but it might help ya survive without it until you can swing a more powerful replacement.

So... S/PDIF output does not work as well?
Btw. did You try rendering song into WAV and playback on other working device? I know it not not a solution, I wonder what really happened to your gear.

Hi
No output whatsoever
there was a bad electric surge/spike at a concert one night and that was it

output was no more, that was from the main power not from the venue.

EVERYTHING else works...
