Which update method is preferred?

The instructions to update to OS 1.3.1 mention 2 methods, booting from the CD or booting normally and then using the disc.
My search string "1.3.1 update" did not return anything recognizable from the thread names returned in the search, that I could see.
Since I'm at OS rev 1.3 now, apparently I can use either method.
Is it preferred to not boot from the CD in my case?
Thanks,
Ken

I would use the "Boot from CD" method, but that is just my personal preference given it has always worked perfectly for me in the past.
Given you have to burn/create a 1.3.1 update CD for both methods, I personally don't see the big benefit of using the "Update System Software menu command" method.

Martin,
Thanks for the reply, I'll do the boot from CD then.
It seems that I had read something in the past about some controversey about which method to use. Since I'm not adding any sounds, hopefully it will be event free.
I had to get Korg support to send me a CD because my location has no DSL available and it just doesn't work trying to down 100MB on a 26K dial up.
It seems to me that the disk that was sent from Korg is ready to go. That is I don't see anything like "Updater1_3_1.iso" as described in the instructions.
